Rivington Riflemen charity day. Open the Box

I will be running a side stall at this years event and it will operate to the following Lucky Dip format.

1. A sealed box with 30 mortice type keys plus the one for the box, it will be £1.00 a dip and the winner will have a choice of prizes.

A Sure Shot gun vice
A Logun Lamp and filter kit
2 Fred Carter DVDS.
Air Rifles by Dennis Hiller 4th ed.

2. A sealed box with 15 mortice type keys(better odds smaller prizes) plus the one for the box, again it will be £1.00 a dip and the winner will have a choice of prizes,

Pellets
Gun Blue Kit
Mounts
Books
DVDs

There is room for more prizes have any of you got a spare set of mounts, a shooting related book,video, or dvd or anything else suitable that i can use as a prize and help us raise money for these kids.
All donations will be acknowledged on here.

Booking in starts at 9.00 till 10.15. There is then a safety talk. For the first group shooting starts, shotgun style (where you are nominated start peg) at 10.30.
Once the first group has shot through most of the (30) targets will be repainted.
After lunch it is 'book on as you arrive' style for the later entries and gives the first group another chance to 're-enter' (seperate trophy) or shoot through with another rifle ('Open Sight Recoiling' and 'Scoped Recoiling' classes.) You can re-enter as many times as time allows.
There is several fun side shoots (£1) the 'Open The Box' event for some great prizes and, of course, you can have a go with the Revolutionery New Rifle. ;)
A free plinking/zeroing range is also provided.

First (shotgun ) starts is at 10.30 after the safety talk.
The second group (book in when you arrive) starts after lunch and after the targets are re-painted. The first group can, of course, 'Re-enter' (seperate class) or use another rifle as there is 'Open Sight Recoiling' classes and a 'Scoped Recoiling' classes.
If theres time you can go through a third time - that makes 90 targets in total ! :eek:

what an excellant days shooting, for those that did not attend you missed a lovely day. well thought out challenging course also the chance to help a very worthwhile cause. after all the hard work put in by the rivi members i in my opinion think that a few more attendees to swell the coffers would have been a good thing, still all those that did attend seemed to relish what was put before them. tony holt tawd vale member

I would like to thank Ian (Acenorth) as some time ago I asked for his help in setting the course. He agreed immediately.

He then told me he was unfortunately going on holiday.
True to his word, with his holiday delayed he raised his offer again. By this time the course had been set.
