Wow!

I owned a HW95k some time ago. I bought it off this site second hand and it was great but I sold it to fund some shot guns and regretted it ever since. So this time I treated myself to a new one and I thought I would go for the screw cut version with silencer. I went for .22 as I have recently bought a BSA XL in .177.

When I opened the box the HW just looked great, I own several HW's and you can't fault the quality, they make the BSA look like a cheap chinese import. I couldn't resist just firing a few pellets through it before I even had any sights on it! It was so smooth out of the box I swear it felt like it had been tuned! It was also incredibly quiet, I then fitted the silencer and it was still quiet....so I took off the silencer and put it away...no need for the silencer in my opinion!

I fitted it with a Simmons scope and one piece mount and went off to zero it in. The third shot was in the area of the bull at 35 yards and after that the remaining pellets were just for fine tuning and fun.

I used some Gamo Pro magnums that I got free to zero it and the HW loved them...must get some more of them.

I don't believe there is a better springer on the market for the price. It is sooooo much better than my BSA XL, just can't wait to use it in anger on the local rabbits!

hi mate, glad you're enjoying your new toy... Any idea how long it is with the silencer on and is there any change you could post or attach some pics.
I have the urge now and can't way till Monday....Might come back with a brand new toy.:)

Got mine a fortnight ago and love it, have only had one kill for the land owners i shoot for but that is down to my clumsy and as yet completely unsuitable stalking methods. Back to the gun though, mine is the slightly older version, not screw cut, you say that the silencer doesn't make that much difference, interesting because i am just about to shell out on a universal silencer ( can't afford the expense of screw cutting ) and am wondering now whether it's worth it. Does anyone have experience of 95's with a universal on and if so which one.

I am glad you like the HW95, I will proabably add one to my collection soon. There was a better (or as good as) springer called the Webley Longbow. Beautifully made, extremely accurate with little recoil and light. Unfortunately due to mismanagement/other reasons they no longer are in production as we all know.

I have a Raider and a Longbow (as well as a BSA XL and a TX200HC) and it makes me sad that these are no longer available. Questions have been asked why. Perhaps Webley put too much cost into their guns (the stocks and blueing are far better than the Air Arms from what I've seen). The Webley Marketing however was nothing short of shocking. Instructional manuals that had been photcopied several times...

Lets' see what AGS make of it....

I had a longbow in .22 , lovely rifle great bluing and trigger was fantastic , BUT it had a terrible firing cycle , it was like shooting a fenman loud and violent. Twice i stripped it because of deisieling in the end i sold it.
Have just bought a .177 hw95 today great build quality and very quiete, mine has the muzzle weight, gonna put a stage 1 v mach kit in and have ordered some of the stick on buttons from macarri.
Also asked Mr Pope to make a cocking lik pin a la tx2oo for future ease of stripping.

Agree completely, have a serious soft spot for the BSA's though:o i dont believe there is another manufacturer that matches the weihrauchs excellent engineering, especially the springers;) iv owned loads of hw's in the past, every one faultless (apart from weight maybe!!:D ) id like another 95, maybe a venom:cool:

Well here we are 3 years down the line and these guns are a bit dearer now:eek:. I have just purchased the .177 version with silencer and really like it. I always wished i hadn't sold the .22 but have since learned to use the merits of .177 to my advantage. If your thinking is towards a break barrel springer you can do a lot worse than this.;)

I have a Hw95k .177 and its fitted with a Bonnie &Clyde spring kit done By Dave the man himself, its my main sitty bird shooting gun its nailed many woodies and 8 magpies and a few crows, i use .177 logun pens very accurate and hard hitting, my best shot with this so far a 37 yd woodie with only its neck visable i got it right at the base of the back of its neck killing instantly , the 95k along with my hw80k in .22 are my favourite springers. apart from my fac Webley Patriot @30fpe gasrammed By Baz on here

Iv'e had many hw's ,the 95k is great, but i really think the older hw's are
better made, looks like you got a good one,
my all time fave is a super smooth 77k,
the germans certainly know their engineering.
