Have any body ever tried to rehape the frontsight in such a way that instead of the flat square post it looks like a inverted v.

I did this with the frontsight on my RWS48.22 to get a finer aimpont since at 15 yards a starling can basicaly hide behind the frontsight.

I just bagged a starling with this gun using .22 hobbys, hit it where the front of the wing joins the body(no exit wound, must have hit a bone)one(1) flop then no movement. Range, about 13 meters.

Anybody else here use hobbys in .22 for hunting???

Z

PS: thi is with a beeman peep rearsight, I doubt that it would work with a regular rearsight.

Did you pull the head off immediately? According to Col. Peter Hawker, "this will, in a great degree, prevent their having a bitter taste. Starlings are very good when stewed with rice, or made into a curry".
