After looking at yesterdays posts,
I've decided to get the STEYR HUNTING RIFLE for
field target.
Could it be possible to buy add ons for
this rifle, as an example : a butthook or
a larger fore-end??
Could you put a silencer on these beasts?
Thanks

One the the best looking rifles on the market in my opinion mate.
I can't see fitting a silencer being a problem, if a standard model wont fit due to the distance between cylinder and barrel, then any half decent engineer should be able to knock you a silencer adaptor up.
A forend shelf (or whatever they're called), should be easy enough to machine into the forend too as it's aluminuim constructed.
Thinking again, a mate of mine has a Steyr and i'm sure they've got a forend rail fitted anyway...
Hope this helps,
Craig

No problem fitting an adjustable palm shelf to the existing forend rail.
Most butt pads could be fitted including various Anchutz, MEC, Wegu, etc. Dont ask i am not making any more fully adjustable jobbies.
Silencers can be fitted and made by a specialist. Not easy.
Pay the extra £200 + silencer and go for the FT version, it may be cheaper!

That info was usefull. one other q has popped up could it be fac 16-20 ft/lbs. The silencer shouldnt be that much of a problem surely you can buy an adaptor without getting a whole new custom silencer. If i get one and god willing i will, i'll be using mine for hunting none of that shoot bits a paper crap <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::)--> so i dont want a bright target rifle i want a cool skeletonised hunter rifle. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:;)--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:-->

If i remember rightly, the one pictured above is the FAC version (hence the HP (high power?) rather than LG), which are modified by the steyr agents as they come into the country - I am not entirely sure, but i think this is right - about 17 ftlbs expect output
Correct me if i talking out of my **** again

Thanx Lee g that sounds perfect i wanted somethin accurate between 12 foot per pund and a rimmie some times when hide shootin and lamping the 10-20 yards extra 17 ft/lbs would give you would be very usefull. Looks like im havin this when my fac comes through.
Thanx lads

Its an out and out special silencer or a special adapter and separate silencer!
Nothing off the shelf in other words.
