I don't think he's a boy anymore at 6'2 <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D-->

well if he was mine I'd wait till the bu66er stopped growing before investing in a gun!! <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D-->
buy him whichever gun he feels comfortable 'hefting' weightwise then look at getting the stock extended - at 6'2" most stocks will probably feel a little short anyway. Its either a case of having a longer stock custom made or trawl around for a decent s/h customised stock that feels right.
If you are 'OK' with wood its not too much of a job to fit something like a wegu adjustable pad with an inch or two of hardwood spacer.

My God what have you been feeding him on......do you put him in a growbag over night? <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::)-->
What sort of gun we talking, Air/Shotgun/FAC?
Any gun he wants at that size! provided it has a very very large recoil pad <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D-->
My kids are all short asses but they shoot .22rf and .357 Rifles of standard size.
For lightness my Falcon fn12 takes a lot of beating

Get one of those Air Arms S200s and buy a stock lengthening thingy from Chambers. Or a HW99S and do the same if its springers yours after.
Parents seem to be depriving their children of a decent supply of cigarettes and gin nowadays. See you get him some too or your tailors bill will be huge in a few years. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:;)-->
