Been 5 day's now and I still ain't lost me rose tinted glasses, its lovely rifle. Tests show that:-
(a) 120 shots will drop the pressure from 200 bar to 50 bar.
(b) Rifle really does like H&N Field Target Trophy's.
(c) 84 shots (= 6 x 14) BEFORE shots start to drop.
(d) Set out 9 x 4 inch targets at 30 yards. First 6 magazines worth ALL tightly clustered about the point of aim. Inside the 20 mm circle.
(e) Magazine's 7 & 8 + 8 shots in the 9th making 120 shots in total. Shots gradually dropping, first by .25 inch below point of aim and ending with 3.75 inches below main point of aim, last 2 shots.( Fired 8 fully charged cylinders, 4 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon) Simillar results every time. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D-->

Compared the silencer with Airstream, Logun, Volumetric, 8.5 inch BBMF, A.A. MkII, Career, Manders, Falcon QF, Stealth silencers. Its quieter than a Stealth, isn't everything? BUT its just slightly louder than the Falcon QF. I did the sound comparison's using a CCTV Camera with an internal micrphone and a VCR. ONLY the Stealth and the HW100 silencers sound reflected from neighbouring buildings 100 yards the the rear.<img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::rolleyes:-->

Used it to shoot right and left handed, its as easy as saying it, that cocking lever could be worked by a two year old. Stocks really nice and comfortable BUT I'd fit an adjustable recoil pad, I've one on order. I had NO problem with removing, charging AND re-fitting the air cylinder, IN fact its far more easy than it looks, both coming of and going back on. Re-moving loading and replacing the magazines is far easier than any other and I mannaged to make NO cock-ups. BUT a word of warning! ALWAYS APPLY THE SAFETY CATCH AT THE END OF THE FIRST COCKING STROKE! WHY? its a factory set trigger and its a HAIR TRIGGER. I brushed it to see what would happen and BANG of it went, dry fired. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:-->

A nicely written report there JDB and it's just a guess but i'd say you're well happy with it. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::cool:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:;)-->

JDB - Does the cylinder get scratched or marked during removal/insertion process when charging?

Hi and thanks for the report. I have the HW97K and wouldn't trade it but I can envisage the day when I might be tempted with a PCP. The only 'drawback' with the HW97K is the weight, especially with a 3x9x50 Predator scope! (I know the weight works in favour of overall accuracy). I note that even the unscopped HW100 appears to be quite a few pounds heavier than say the AA S410. Have you found the weight of the HW100 to be a problem with handling/stalking. After a few hours in the field with my HW97K you certainly know about it! Thanks.

Thanks chaps, it is the bees knees and that's a FACT. Weight wise, its about HALF the weight of the HW97 and that INCLUDES the HW100 being fitted with a Custom shop 8 - 40 x 56. Not tried ANY stalking, BUT it is half a mile to my mates allotment, from his house, where I did the shooting test's, with his assisstance and pertinent comments. Walked there and back and spent 4 hours in the morning and four in the afternoon with NO bother. Couple of weeks earlier I'd tried the same with the S16. THAT REALLY CREAMED ME! and my mate.

John.

PS. The HW100 LOOKS blocky and HEAVY but its so well made and ballanced it feels far far 'LIGHTER' THAN IT LOOKS!
