A quick question for those out there with considerably more hunting experience than I have! Generally speaking, is there a particular time of day when you have most success with nailing these critters? My hunting trips tend to be confined to evenings at the moment, and I am not having much luck. I can hear them, see the odd one flying around but thats about it and its pi$$ing me off big time! Thanks for any advice.

Get up early, say 5am before work and they're usually about.
Getting them is another matter though
Gary has a big rook job to do pretty soon and has plans, so maybe ask how he intends doing it?

As Sammie says. Up early 4.30-5.00. Round here.
They are cawing away like mad. How you lure them depends on your location. My local population seem to like K.F.C, Macsicdonalds etc. Chickens eggs work well too, but they get wise to this after losing a few of their chums.Clever bu***rs!
Good luck.

Try to find theire favourite roosting tree and get there before it gets dark, sit & wait as quietly as you can.
The crows will come in for the night and you are there already waiting for them.

i find a split open rabbit facing upwards does the trick, also put a few magpie decoys around the rabbit.

I found easiest way on my shoot was to leave a bunny in the same spot, once a week for a month then put the bunny down as usual and then hide up and wait for them.
They didn't stand a chance; it had become a routine to them and stopped checking the area for any danger before feeding on the bunny <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin::D-->
