View Full Version : The Ultimate 12ft/lb hunting rifle combo? (Shameless showing off)

OK, OK, I confess this is my first opportunity to show off my pride and joy now its back on the road (in the field?)!
For me, the perfect 12ft/lb hunter must be a PCP in .20 calibre (if only to keep people guessing about sexual preference), accurate, light, multishot, quiet and handy.
I prefer a simple robust fixed mag scope with a bright image and mildots for quick hunting shots.
I think I have found it in my Rapid Mk2, with Logun silencer, Nikko Sniper 10*42 scope and stock fettled by SBSD (Cheers Sam!).
The only draw back for hunting is that I just don't wanna get it scratched!
Guesty.

Yes mate, a new B&L Elite 6-24 arrived from the States in gloss finish -perfect for the Mk3 methinks! Burris 8-32 will return when they get their act together (?). Simmons have offered a new 801056 (44Mag 6.5-20 with mildots) as replacement -I think you may be interested in this one? I'll call you if I can't make use of it.
However, am truly getting into the Nikko SS -lovely!
Chrisc
No worries.
Rat Reaper
I was hoping someone might ask that! The front QD has been 'glued' to the end of buddy bottle by Nite-Hunter:

I think this is the neatest way to sling a Rapid (OY! No 'into a hedge' comments you lot!).

Nice set up Guesty but are they the EB or Tasco 10x42 snipers as my Nikkos have the rear PA.
Cheers

I dunno which brand it is, its completely bare apart from 'SS10*42M' embossed on the saddle, and 'Made in Japan' and 'Inspected by Asia Optical' stickers.
I think they are all made in the same Hakko factory, so I doubt there are differences between them?

Yup your right all come from Hakko, i think the ones you have there are the ones based on EB/Tasco they are the ones i'm getting next week.
Do these look similar to yours Snipers (http://www.swfa.com/riflescopes/tasco/index.html)
Also what size Butler Creeks do you have on there.

Yup, the $400 version is the same scope.
The rear Butler Creek is marked 'L20', but the front cover is marked '28, 29, 30, 31'. I guess that means they use that cover for a those diameter bands?

Very nice scope!!!!
Cheers, sorry to be a pain but with the front cover it is numbered just inside the main body where the cap snaps shut as i think the lids fits a few sizes.
