So after sending off to Airgun World hoping to enter two teams in the aforementioned, I had a reply telling me that as Hereward FT & ARC were one of only eight clubs to express an interest the competition has been cancelled.
Was it too late in the season to set up a new competition? especially one that seemed to combine both Sporting/Hunterft along with standard ft. What a shame considering the mix of guns and power plants needed per team. All this with national magazine coverage, especially after so many posts over many months complaining about lack of coverage for various forms of our sport or the eliteism of ft. Lets hope Nigel Allen et all are not put off and try a relaunch for next year. Apathy was the word used to describe the response, and after the posts following its initial announcement I thought we were on to something big.
Ah well always next year.
