As the title say,s, 2 of the rarest I own are only12 years old, ! (handmade) but the mention in an earlier post on BSF,s and the scarcity of them made me think, How about Booglespanners, Gems, Etc , Probably the Aircanes, The Ball/Butt reservoirs guns of yesteryear, cheers,

dunno if my most unusual gun really applies...i used to own a boxed and virtually mint walnut stocked saxby palmer herald.

i did read in 1 of the comics that the early pneumatics killed more of the users than the intended targets when the reservoirs exploded under pressure.

No mate, I have no idea. I wouldn't have put it down on my list except for the fact that you did! :o

Thinking about it, maybe the rarest airgun I have is my Haenel 312 side-lever match target rifle? It's similar to the 311, but much, much rarer! :)

Hi All & Thanks for the input But, I consider Bsa Mod D,s and Lincoln Jeffries, Bsa light models, Gem,s ( Even though I have one stamped No 2 ) rare, and a Number of others mentioned ! The " One off " makes are rarer but not necessarily more collectible, I Appreciate the input from the guy,s but an Airsporter Stutzen, or a Rb2 ( Nice as they are ) are not rare ! I have 2 of Richard Chainey,s guns ( Bought off this forum ) No,s 3 & 7, Etc, These I would consider to be rare, IE less than 30 in total, (worth is something else) When we are dead & gone is another thing ?? Another ( Quality ) gun I would add ! "yes " every said word is debateable ? A Parker Hale Dragon, A "Quality" Item, Was it worth the effort ? Again I know, ( But i Wouldn,t sell it ) Where will this generation of Pre-Charged guns be in 100 years, ( If at all ) I was going to reply to a Thread earlier, but decided not to, It was about Synthetic piston washers in a BSF, Remember what Mr Cardew said about "Mild dieselling) The leather washers LOVE it, Ha ha, ( I do go on I when the beer is in ) And thats often !

Duly noted Ged, I did say that the ones I put down were not particularly rare. However, as they are so common could you put me down for two of each please, in .25 and .177. 50 a piece as they are so damned common.;) :D :p You did ask "what's the rarest rifle you own?"

Hi all, and to reply to sam vines, I do have a RB2 in .25, and an Airsporter Stutzen in .22 ( I think ) ha ha, And the BSF 54, But this opens up " ANOTHER " debate, ! Some guy,s love them & Others (Like me ) can take them or leave them, ( why did I buy them ) The RB2 was "There" & the Airsporter Stutzen was a swap, The BSF came with 2 other guns, A Nickel plated 1927 Diana 27, and a Nickel Plated Millitia, both in V good nick, ( These I LOVE ) Lifes funny sam. innit !! I will be moving them on soon, But what to buy ! Cheers,

I have a Daystate Midas. I exchanged the brass cylinder for a polished Stainless Steel clylinder. It has a stainless steel barrel support, power adjuster and filler cap. Breech and rear of gun is Colour Case Hardened as are the scope mounts. It has a Simmons Stainless Steel modified bolt assembly that was specially made for me. The gun was worked on by to friends in the industry who are master engineers. This gun endorses their work. It is truly unique and in mint condition. Have not fired it for two years as I am now into Rimfire. Also have anothe Midas converted to stainless steel but no colour case hardening and with original blued bolt. Gun is like new. Both in .22..

Since my first post on this thread, I've added a few interesting specimens - a Pro Elite in .177 :) and what I'm lead to believe is a one-off Ripley sporter which has 'Special Hunter' emblazoned along the left side of the breech block! :D

Today I had a chat with a bloke who still shoots a laiser 12, a .177 single stroker (full power) from the late 80's. The only other he knows of was owned by a G. Bluck who went on to 'invent' the PH Dragon...

Surprised to see the Midas cropping up as 'rare' - I thought they made plenty of those?

My first PCP was a Midas FT with a brass reservoir: not seen many of those, and boy was it fron heavy!

I have recently obtained Ben Taylor's prototype FWB Sport 124 with a Gas Ram fitted by Ben :D
A real 'One off' made for FWB as an experiment.

As previously mentioned, My TDR is rare too, Hydrographics have only made 10 .177 dipped ones and mine is the only BTAS regged one out there :D

My Cyclone and RWS500 will be rare for a while, soon, as I am having the first GinB stocks made at the moment :D

I have a .22 Pro Elite that is drilled and tapped for rear iron site out of the box. Also a .177 Pro Elite putting out 19.9 ft. lbs.. TX200 Mark1 #00321. Have a Pro Sport with a lefty Jim Macarri stock. He was making it for Mr. Saunders of Air Arms when they parted ways so I now have it. Also an old R1 with only 2 scope stop pin holes. None are really rare, but it's the best I have.

I have a few more to add to my list:) looking at some of the rifles mentioned already I now consider rare

Air Arms Pro-Target custom! it's block is original but that's about it! super heavy over 20lb but it does shoot better then it looks!
tarted up by Hydrographics (cost more then the donor rifle) but worth it!

Daystate Merlin LE No: 6
I managed to get hold of 1 of these lovelies:D
I have no:6 in .22:eek: there wasn't that many .22 done only a couple I think? I have only put about 10 shots through it since I bought it! wanted a nice silver bit of glass to go on top! which is on it's way over so it might come out a bit more once it's on top!

.20 Pro Elite with Lothar Walther barrel, I believe made by factory as looks original, also PE in .177 that is supersonic with everything apart from Bismags:D

TDs "Emily" the FT championship winning HW77, I dont own it but do look after it for TD, its in cossetted airconditioned luxury, along with TDs Logun "Carbon Fibre" special which I am looking after

Ken Turner special HW80, all stainless steel, another I have bought back after owning a few years ago (the wonders of the worldwide BBS:))

And one for the firearms lovers, 22/250 Ackley Improved built by B. Dupuy, winner of several Benchrest comps a decade or two ago and drop dead gorgeous, built on Obendorf action with Lothar Walther barrel, Jewel trigger and superb Walnut stock, 1/2 inch group at 200yds with ease!

You cant get any rarer than 1 only in existence, i have 5 one offs No2,3,4,7 and 19 right down to the individual design, mechanics and last screw, not modded production rifles like 99.5% are.

I have serious modded production based rifles but they dont count even though theres only one like it.

The two rarest rifles in my collection were both specially built for Tom Walton following an incident with his earlier FT rifle.

The first is a stainless steel action GC2 Mk3, the first made in this material, and one of only 6(?) in total in stainless. I is fitted into an Airmasters FTXS stock, one of only two that I believe were made, the other being built for a Shamal and was featured in the 1988 Airgun World annual as part of a colour centre page article. Tom comissioned the stock in about 1988 tofit his GC2 Mk1, according to Tom the cost of the wood blank and the carving came to about 900.

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1206/4806274/13503515/216976682.jpg

The second rifle is an unusual Ripley, built for Tom to encourage him back into FT, the cylinder is of stainless steel rated at a burst pressure of 60000psi. The rifle uses parts from a failed prototype called the 'Phoenix'. The barrel and breech block are offset to the left side side of the action.

I recently had made, a special order Theoben Evolution .25cal - yes, that's 6.3mm / 12ftlb.
Theoben say they can't recall ever building one before.
Not that it would be too difficult to make another, or convert an existing Evo - but mine is apparently the first .25 (and maybe the only one that will ever be made) to leave the factory and will be listed in Theoben's records as such.

I also may have had the first .25cal MFR with a proper .25cal barrel (Walther), but that was a calibre conversion from a .177, so not too difficult to replicate.

A year ago, I sold a (vgc) 1990-model Theoben Sirocco Carbine in .177 - apparently they are very rare as a carbine model in .177.
I think "DerekAustin" (?) has it now.

Rarest I have is a Diana Series 70 Model 71 in .22 calibre, according to Dennis Hiller in his airgun books he says it's so rare he's only ever seen one. Apparently it was never advertised in the UK for some reason. I agree fluffy it is a nasty round , only thing i would add if anyone has one like mine (50ftlb) CLEAN THE BARREL every 200 shots cause they do foul up and accuracy go's to pots, but you'd expect that from a rifle spitting out 50ftlb.

Does a Theoben SLR98, .177cal, short barrel version count?
There can't be many of those around either.
If mine is a year old and is number 875/98, that's only an average of 90-100 SLR98's produced in a year - and the .177 has only been around for a couple of years, with most being the long barrel version, since the short version has apparently been discontinued.

I have a .177 Venom Pro-Elite with a rather nice Maccari stock LH, a Venom FAC .22 Pro-Elite LH, the first working prototype (1978) Theoben gas ram rifle in .20, the only .177 field target rifle BSA ever made, (there's a .22 version in Holland) it's based on an Airsporter S commissioned by May Of London.

A .177 Diana 52 Ken Turner short stroked and lazerglided, a very nice CS800 LH stock, a polished alloy Ripley AR5 serial no 001, and it's also the first .20 Steve Wilkins ever made, another high grade CS800 stock, L H of course.

I have some fairly rare Diana springers, 100 year old BSA and Lincoln Jeffries rifles, some Crosman pump ups.

Sold a Whiscombe JW85, Bonehill Britannia, a Mk1 .177 Airsporter of which there were only 100 made, some early Gems, a fully Venomed Webley axsor, various early precharged rifles, AA XM100, AA Shamal, Daystate Midas, Alros Trailsman Octoplus 400, List LPE Carbine, a brace of of mint Walther LP3's, a late 70's thumbhole HW35, I'll shut up now before I start crying again.

My .177 KT83 built by Ken Turner(1983) as one of a pair out of stainless steel with fWB sport and was Ken's own competition gun for a few years. Unusual in as much as it has a coned compression chamber and piston all in with nylon bearings and has near zero spring retention on rear block which is held via hex bolt. Great for maintenance, fantastic to shoot..

Next up my own competition rifle a .177 1993 Mk2 'SR with full Ken spec and grade 3 sporter and is absolutely gorgeous.....if i do say so myself!

Another rare gun in the family though i have to admit, is my brothers .177 Mk1 FWB sport with walnut factory stock(bought early '80s from Gentrys in Welling Kent.. Now how do i begin to convince him that he needs to sell this to me? And how much should i offer him realistically??

The following are with owners and are the only ones made of their type, at least by me:

Steyr LG Bullpup (One)

Daystate Mk3 Bullpup (One)

HW 100 Bullpup (One only but not for long)

Ripley Predator 20 shot Bullpup (One)

Daystate LR 90 semi bullpup (One)

BSA Goldstar Semi Bullpup (One)

BSA Super Ten with an all aluminium folding stock (One)

Air Arms Evolution in a fully adjustable aluminium stock. (One)

There is also an HW80 out there somewhere. It took the customer three years of pestering me before I finally agreed to do it. I will never do another one. Ever.

If there is a request I will put Photobucket links up.

Very nice keith . but the two most succesfull FT rifles you have done are my GC2 and the 2002 shutz you did . the latter is just about as perfect a FT rifle as you will find . weight , balance , hold , accuracy , reliability . all present and correct .

I have a .25 Scirroco (one of only two I am told, I recently bought it back, I owned it for several years before)

.20 Pro Elite with Lothar Walther barrel, I believe made by factory as looks original, also PE in .177 that is supersonic with everything apart from Bismags:D

Hi baz just out of curiosity what serial no. is your ken turner stainless rifle im only asking because mine is kt83 002 which was kens own competition rifle during the eighties 001 im told was sold to ian law and then to a guy i know who emigrated to usa. I have a gamo mc 10mt target side lever.
Does anyone know any thing about these as every body seems to have heard of them but never seen one

If this is the single stroke pneumatic then I first saw one of these in around 1983 in a gunshop in Flix (Spain) The following year they were available in the UK and I bought one. It was considered a budget match rifle. Velocity was about 570 ft/sec and accuracy was excellent, but they suffered from leaky seals and needed servicing more often than the much more expensive Walther LGR single stroke pneumatic

Got an Air Arms Camargue from the mid 80's one of AA's custom rifles back in the day, don't see many of those these days. I also have a Haenel MKIVE .177 late 20's early 30's vintage, its still the only one I've seen in the flesh although a few guys on collectables say they have one as well.
