I would class this as a collectable gun, a gun shop local to me has one and it is rough he is asking £50 for it.
Me personaly love these guns.

If your wondering wether the BSA Merlin is collectable, have a look at the price of THIS ONE (http://www.guns.gb.com/#2689X0) [Collectable Airguns section, page 2] :D

I've shot I.J's, it's a lovely little thing. We spent some time pondering which section of the market it was aimed at. Far too well made for a boy's rifle, but very small for an adult. Ladies perhaps?

I had one when I was a youth.
The piston head was a bit of a weak affair. Mine broke, and I took it to an airgun buff for repair. He said it would be impossible to manufacture a new head, and offered me £5 for the rifle as spares. I sold it to him, he made a new piston head the very next day, and put the rifle in his collection.
