Having turned down Ali D's minty Osprey http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173976

. . I'm still looking for a cheaper / scruffier one. As long as it's 100% in the mechanical department, I'm not too bothered about the state of the blueing. Quick wipe over with an oily rag . . that'll do it.

You might be looking for a while.

Up till a year or two ago you could pick up Ospreys for beer money .... £50 or £60 would get you a nice one. Since Webley went to the wall they have become collectable with prices to match.

Nostalgia eh? ;)

No doubt you are right. I am hoping that the collectors will turn up their noses at some example that has some blueing rubbed off, or a few spots or rust, and scratches on the stock, and I'll still get one for less than a ton . .

Ever the optimist

I paid £45 for my Supertarget version just a year ago, the metalwork is perfect, the stock is a bit faded but for the money I was very pleased. There are a couple of standard Ospreys for sale at the moment on Guntrader.co.uk for about £80.

At the risk of teaching Granny to suck eggs, have you tried LOOT?

There are often bargains to be had.......... :)
