Can any of you lads who collect vintage tell me roughly how old the Milbro model 23 is. There is no scope rail and very basic sights it has finger grooves down each side of the stock. It had a leather breech seal but this has rotted away now. I found this weapon in bombed house's near my home in Liverpool back in the 70's it still looked fairly new going by the woodwork although was very rusty. It is a tiny weapon obviously designed for young shooters.
Any help appreciated :) .

Per Hiller, the Milbro G23 was late 60's to early 70's...possibly find date stamped somewhere on the butt. The successor to the Diana Model 23 which would be stamped "Diana" on the air chamber.

Milbro ended up with all the German Company Diana's Machinery and models after the war. Diana had been making the model 22 and 23, before the war. Milbro started making the same range up in Scotland in 1947 under their own brand. So I would guess anywhere between around 1950 and 1965 ish, would be the approximate dates of your gun.
For a value I would say around 40 quid in rough condition, up to around 80 quid for a good one.

Thanks lads, for the prompt answer's :) , after the early airgun memories thread I went into the loft and dug it out. Like I said earlier found it in the shell of a bombed house back in the early 70's, gotta be a story to that. With it having no scope rail's thought it must've been a few years older than when I found it. have no intention of selling it. Thanks again lad's.

I have seen the end of the stock date stamped (month - year) on some Milbro rifles. It may be worth checking. ;)

Nice on Ian :) checked the stock and it has 6 62W stamped on it, so I take it that means June 1962, no Idea what the W denotes but at least I now know how old this little Milbro is. Which makes it 10/11 years old when I found it, now 45 years old  . QUESTION ANSWERED :) THANKS MATE.
