This is the most expensive piece of kit in my cabinet, it cost more than any of my guns, and any of my other scopes.
The optics are absolutely superb with great light gathering capabilities at dusk & dawn. Holds a good zero. Just the right amount of magnification for deerstalking.
I would highly recommend one - if you want to moderate magnification, fixed magnification, quality optic.
OK its expensive but hopefully it was last for many years.
... and I didn't buy it online - I went to my local gunshop and was offered a very very good deal, and a cup of coffee and a chat.

depends on at what range - they also do an 8x56 if you want a bit more mag.

They are PX'd for 100 yards - not sure how difficult to change that and if the change effects the warrenty.

It always pays to get good glass. Even if you only have an average rifle, still get good glass.
Those eastern S/Bender scopes are very good value and I for one can hardly tell any different from the more expensive West German ones.
They will more than pay for themselves over a few years by the extra venison they put on the table (or in the game dealers chilled store:D )

Have to agree. I have the inch version on my stalking rifle and it is perfect for the job at sensible ranges with superb optics. I have owned a German zoom model in the past and there is no difference in the quality despite what some may try and tell you.

The scopes are assembled in hungary from lenses etc made in germany, lower labour costs is the difference plus body shape.
The best all round reticle is the no 9.

The biggest drawback is the parallax issue of 100 yards, which of course is three times the hunting range for a typical air rifle.

They stay in focus to about 12 yards or so, at least to my eyes.
