just a little write up on the cz style i got the other day :)

i got amcodave to help me set it up the other day as ive had it a week. :(
and its been in the gun cabinet at home as the weather has been rubbish.

we set it up at 60 yards and so far ive put 40 shots though the barrel i had some good groups and will get better once im use to it. im very happy i took daves advise and got one as ive seen what his cz can do;)

i got the 16in nickel barrel one as it looks nice and is perfect for shooting from the jeep. it shoots very well to and i think they have a work horse build to them. its a great rifle for the money to. ive got a nice carbon mod on it that makes the eley subs i put though little more the a puff. the scope i got on it is the mtc viper 4x16x50 i got this scope after i had a look at amcodaves on his cz. i get on well with the cross hairs on the scope and think there isnt a better scope out there for the money. plus the rifle looks nice with black scope, black stock, nickel barrel and carbon mod :D
im sure it will count for lots of rabbits in the up and coming winter ;)
all ive got left to do is let all the new parts bed in so the bolts smoother. get a spare mag mabe a 10 shot. and a brooks trigger kit as i dont like the long pull on the factory tigger. its not that bad but ive heard once you fit the brooks kit it make the rifle better. so im very happy with the rifle and will see how i get on with it :)

I have a 16 inch Silhouette and would agree with your comments. I use Winchester Subs in mine and have a S & B 6 X 42 on it. Most of my rabbiting is at night from a 4 x 4 and the ranges are not too long. I have a DM80 Mod on also which helps keep the length down. Great value for money rifles that perform far better than their price tag would suggest.

Yes, first thing I did. Took about a quarter of an hour to do, just make sure you do the slam test as the first spring I tried was too light and if you hit the butt the rifle would fire, came back one and it was fine.

Just what I'm after if they grant me my F.A.C. I will only be doing target shooting with it to start with, but I still don't know which barrell length to go for. 16" or 20". It seems that the majority go for the 16".

i would go for the 16 in barrel more compact better to shoot from a jeep.
but if your using it at the range and not pest control. then it wont matter if you have the longer barrel :)

I picked my silhouette 16" up mid week as well, fitted with a Falcon Merlin 4-14x56 and a Sak mod and harris bi-pod, I've got it zeroed at 65yds and have put about 75'ish rounds through it, achieving some very tight groups, holes touching, very impressed and would recommend one to anybody, count so far after a couple of quick trips out 4 crows and 6 rabbits.

I picked up my Silhouette 16" last week. I mounted some Leupold VX1 3-9x50 & Sako moderator. Took it down the farm in the late afternoon to get her zeroed. Set the target up at 70 yards. The best grouping was about 2” because I found the trigger so damn heavy. I had the foresight of ordering the Eric Brooks trigger kit a few weeks previous to getting the rifle but wanted to make sure it was in full working order before I started taking it apart.
So the next morning I change just the spring & tried a couple of dry fires. It felt like a completely different rifle now, perfect pull weight for me. Back off down the farm.
After a couple of shots to tweak the zero I was now getting groups within the size of a 2 pence piece. At 70yds I can’t fault that. To be honest I think I could of got it tighter but I was to keen to get on & shoot some rabbits.
The Silhouette came highly recommended from a good friend who is a keeper. He never took much notice of the trigger until he tried mine with the Eric Brooks spring.
It was a good job I got him one when I ordered mine. I just got to fit it for him now.

I'm over the moon with my Silhouette & those rabbits that were mocking me when I could never get close enough with my air rifle aren’t mocking anymore. Two of them the dog’s had for dinner yesterday.:D

I got a CZ452 Silhouette with 20" barrel, SM11 Mod, and a 6-24 X50 PX BDC IR scope.

Have to say, 6 bunnies on the first outing was fab, and a major difference to air rifle shooting.

Have tried Winchester Super X's and Remington subs through it so far, and both are pretty accurate rounds... mind you, from what I've heard, most ammo works well through these excellent guns.

Cheers... I have tried, but failed to find a local supplier of Eley rimfire rounds... they're either out of stock or aren't an agent for Eley!

They came way out in front in a poll I set here a couple of weeks back. Pretty frustrating not to be able to get my hands on them!
