View Full Version : Lead - free to collector.
I'm not into BP or muzzle loaders stuff but i have read the thread regarding lead.
I've got a good few kilos of roofing lead that i don't mind donating to a shooter if you want to collect from Claverdon, Warwickshire.
Cheers

Pardon the hijack, but how much is lead to buy by the pound/kilo?
I'm just wondering as I know it's pricey.

No! But I must admit that I did have a rather wild thought - could I take some of the existing flashing off and hope nobody would notice? Wouldn't do such a thing of course - just a wild thought. Now, next door are on holiday at the moment...............:D

Cheers Steve!
I have 5 big blocks of it from work [clean] which is being picked by me on Sunday.
I haven't weighed them yet, but I reckon there's about 10lb per block.
I was thinking of taking it to the Midland Game Fair with if anyone needs lead.
Reasonable price and no posting needed.

I also looked on their site, as well as searching on here. I think you're right when you said £2 per lb as I've seen prices from £2 per lb to about £5 per kilo.
Cheers Steve, I'll weigh it all up and mark it accordingly.
Are you interested in some?:)

Are either of going to the Midland Game Fair this September? I'll be there with my dad on the Saturday, so I'm happy to bring it along and meet up.
If you can't make it let me know as I don't want to drag it around all day, it's f.....g heavy!
Perhaps an arranged meet on the fields which are used as car parking? Or by the ticket offices? Somewhere where we both don't have to lug it about.
I've yet to weigh it all so I know how much is there, but once I have I'll get back on here and let you all know.
Hopefully I won't come home with any left, as it's no good to me. I'd prefer to sell it all.
Pete.

At that price it's a steal :) it's around £7 a stone to buy from the scrap yard up here :( anyone who fishes and makes their own weights could buy a stone of lead of this lad for £4.20 and make 37 6oz none gripper weights with it and 37 6oz weights bought from a shop would cost you between £18.50 to £22.20 if not more in some shops  wished I lived closer to buy it :(

I have what must be 7 or 8 stone of it here. I have 6 large blocks of it - the lightest is ~10lb in weight, and I have ~ 30lb of lead shot [sizes 8 to 10].
If anyone is passing Aylesbury at any time I'd be happy to sell it to them.
Pete.:)
