OH NO! Very sad news Ben, he was a nice fella and went out on afew occasions shooting, good person and was a great shot too, he gave me a skinning knife as a present because we had such a laugh when he saw my skinning knife, we laughed so much that day. Will be sadly missed by me. May Alan rest in peace. and my condolences to his wife and two daughters.

I am extremely saddened to learn of Alan’s death.
Alan was a true gentleman; his integrity, knowledge and kindness are attributes that, when combined, are very rare.

I thinks its already been said above,
Alan posted me a lightstream scope when they first came out to try, didn't really know me from adam.
I had the scope for months and when he rang me i said i would like to keep it.
Dare not tell you how much he charged me but it was very very cheap.
Sad day indeed.

Had only met him once briefly. Knew of him mostly by reputation really.
I now regret I assumed I would have many chances to develop a relationship with someone who knew what they were talking about, and were pleased to share their wisdom. A sad loss to us all, in many many ways.
My condolences to his family, and his friends. Greatly missed I'm sure.
....
:(It has flagged up as Alan's birthday at the bottom of the BBS.
RIP to a great fellow airgunner and the Lightstream guru.
