What would make a good alternative to the above as a varmint round for my .243. Was quoted over £38 /100 bullets. They are extremely accurate through my Tikka and I don't really want to lose that but, at that price, it won't really be realistic to reload!: i might just as well wait 'til I go over to the US and bring them home with me.confused:

G&C 68 grain Flat Base HP's work well, as do the equivalent Bergers.

Is there a 75 A-Max??
As for £38 for 100 that is madness...
If you want to meet up, I can do them for £23.00 per 100 or £52.00 for 250
They are a very, very good bullet for foxes. 65 V-Max or the Speer 70 TNTs aren't bad.
68 grain Bergers are also pretty good. In my Weatherby the 70 BTs were the most accurate with a 41.2 Varget charge.

70 gr Speer TNT`s I bought some from the RFD and they where £13.50 for 100, happy days. Bet the next batch are more than that. They are silly accurate and very explosive, hence the name TNT.

The 75gr Hornadys are Vmax, and therefore not postable :(

I'd def recommend 70gr Sierra Blitzkings, although i lean toward the heavier and more efficient bullets

75gr AMax???

Mark

OOPS sorry thats .223 not .243 :o

In that case I'd heartily recommend 58grVMax. I used to run these in my .243 until I Ackley Improved it and changed the twist rate so I could use the 105/107gr heavies.

Those 58gr really detonate stuff :D

I was out with Merchant on Monday and the 55s were really doing some nice groups in his .243 at 100 yards. I still like them 70s, but the idea of knocking a 55 out at over 4000 fps with good accuracy makes me smile:D:D
