Well after 2 months , 200 rounds of ammo and three different powders it appears i have found two good loads for my CZ 222.
I thought reloading was going to be easy and i would find an ideal load after a couple of weeks, there have been times when i thought either the gun was knackered or i couldn't` shoot
But after lots of help from my local RFD and some of you BBSers, i have discovered 36grn Varmint Grenades over 16.5grns of VN110 and 55grn VMAX over 19.3grns of H4198 give me 1" groups at 150yds.
I`m sure its nothing special to some of you guys but this evening i shot a squirrel at 215 yds and a rabbit at 250 yds ,
A special thank you to Wabbit Icer and Hungry Rob for all your help,
Next i`m going to try out 50grn VMAX, dont you just love reloading ?

Good stuff mate :D
May i suggest the 50gr Blitzkings over the Vmax?
You're WAY more likely to be able to get hold of them and IME they have always shot better....
Also, I can't believe how accurate i'm consistently finding every Berger Match bullet i try...and you can get them through the post :)

Well done;) If you get the chance try some Berger 52grn Varmints or "match" both very effective HP, my CZ .222 loves them, I am using RL7 and CCI BR primers in mine but your powder and primers would probably work just as well, excellent accuracy and stunning impact results

Baz seems to have a similar load to mine for .222

CCI BR primer (or CCI Mag primer makes no odds but I have a pile of cheap magnum primers:D)

20 Grains Reloader 7

Combined Technologies 40 grain ballistic tip - its a long bullet for the weight which gets me close to the lands on my Mannlicher Classic which has a long chamber.

It'll happily shoot 5 shot sub 1/2" groups if I'm not hungover until the barrel gets warm.

In my gun with a sawn off 18" barrel I get 3168fps and 891ft/ibs which makes it pretty much point and shoot to 200 with a 150 zero, its out of steam at 300 needing 10" holdover.

If you've got a longer barrel it would be more efficient (24" 3386fps and 1018ft/ibs)

I use it like a big HMR :D

thats exactly what i use the varmint grenades as,

what i need is a powder that will push out the lighter bullets(varmint grenades at 36grn) and the heavier V MAX or BERGER 50grners

Give Vit N130 a try between 21-22 gr, I get 3300 fps with my 50 Gr Speer TNT`s and silly accuracy . I load for a few guys and N130 works in every rifle I have tried it in. Its a good clean burning powder with plenty of umph. I use it with Rem 7 1/2 primers.

N-110 sounds a novel idea. I used to use it as a pistol powder. Didn't know it worked in rifles.

Its reccomended by vhiatori for 22Hornets and 222s but only with bullets up to 45grns
