[My first PCP rifle] I connect everything i believe to be correctly, yet air keeps escaping. 1st time from the adapter where the bottle connects, that stopped . Now from the hills pump itself, and everything is tight.
Would appreciate general pointers from someone with the same setup or even a how to guide to make sure im not retarded, im pretty sure im doing it right. Thanks.

if the cyl is completly empty i doubt that a hills pump will do it, you may need to get a initial charge to overcome the valve spring the keep it up with the hills pump..
also cock the gun, dont pull trigger, then try with the gun cocked, s200 have a hammer spring which will hold the valve open if the cyl is completly empty

Ive took it out the gun, and i dont think its completely empty, as i fired a few shots when i first got it.

I have exactly the same set up. When you say things are tightly done, are they tight in the right direction ie is the valve on the pump fully closed and not fully open. Spin the knob in the opposite direction and see if that does the trick.

Hokay initial problem sorted, but now how to remove without releasing all the built up air - which has just happened, baffling. Chrissy?

not sure what your on about mate but afteryouve charged your gun
turn the little brass screw on your stirrop pump and it lets the air out
if this is what ur on about
THIS is normal its just releasing the air out of the pump not your gun
so ur gun should be ready for play time:)

Ive just pumped it up, turned the brass screw, and watched the pressure gauge go down from 190 to 0, looking and sounding like its releasing all the air ive just built up

The pressure gauge going down is just the air in the pump. The cylinder has a one way valve and the pressure within is not represented by the pump gauge once you turn the bleed screw. You have to do that to release the pressure between pump and bottle so you can undo the connector. You should have a full bottle. Put it on the rifle and see.

That is normal. what the gauge on the pump is reading is the pressure in the hose. When you pump up, once pressure is equalised between hose and cylinder the valve is forced open and at that point the gauge is reading the pressure in pump and cylinder as you fill because the open valve means the pressure is the same in both.
When you finish pumping and open the bleed valve the pressure starts to fall from the hose end which means the valve in the cylinder can close trapping the air inside. pressure continues to fall to nothing in the hose as the air in it is vented out. At this point the gauge is reading the air in the hose so it falls to zero.

there is a bleed screw there mate.:)
i think i get the drift. have you been trying to get the hose off while still under pressure.
you bleed the pump before disconnecting.
