Hi all, I recently brought an riffle from John and haven't been able to send him a PM to thank him.

I then noticed he has been banned!!

What happened?

So if anyone is still in touch with him, could they please thank him for me:).

Hello Mate

Yes, unfortunately John has been banned from the forum, and this is his second ban - the first time we managed to get him switched back on, but this time he is banned until August 15.

He doesn't know why he has been banned, but hopefully, he will be back soon.

As has been mentioned, you can contact him via his email.

He is a very nice fella, and I will pass on your thanks and appreciation.

Its all down to rules which are set by the bbs which are found on each section, you break the rules you get a ban ;)

I have spoken to covert op.

This is what he has told me.

There was a thread ( which has now been zapped ) Titled " how long do you hang pheasents for? "

The poster was having problems saying the birds stunk after a week.

Covert op trying to help, posted " I dont I just caserole them"

He was then banned and when he tries to log on it just says Reason For Ban: Advocating shooting game out of season " Banned till August.

He tells me he only posted to help the guy and the post was made on his knowledge of aquiring pheasents some 15 years ago when he had a shot gun licence.

He has wrote to the mods 6 times and supplied his home telephone number.

He has not had one reply or a telephone call.

He thinks he might have upset one of the mods with his comments about a Hog rifle article!

I thought this was rather harsh punichment for a guy trying to help another shooter out.

This is my understanding of the basis for the ban.

I also think that perhaps someone has been a little over-zealous in banning Covert-Op for this 'offence'.

As you say Cozzy, I think it would appear to be a little too pc - especially when he was only trying to give advice, and not actually encouraging the shooting of game out of season.

I hope that he is let back on the BBS sooner rather than later - I enjoyed Covert Ops quick wit and banter, but also, if you look at some of his previous posts, he is one who also seems to come to peoples defence and tries to point out the under heard sides of discussions and debates.

I do know him outside the BBS and can honestly say that John is a most pleasant and amiable chap.
