morning,
i would like a new stock for my mk3s, nothing fancy just a standard stock, anyone know where they sell them cheap apart from daystate factory.

I don't think ANYWHERE (apart from the factory) sells just the stocks, new.

They occasionally come up in the 'for sale' section here (I know, cos I got one that way!!:))

thanks dunk,thats what i thought but just wanted to make sure, i rang them earlier and there £200!
mine is ok apart from round the forend and along by the cylinder the wood has faded and looks worn out. not sure why though? any ideas? thankyou

Is it the wood thats faded, or just the finish? you could always strip it down and re-finish it.

There's LOADS of excellent threads on here about re-finishing tired stocks....

its just the finish i think mate, is it easy to strip down and re-finish? i'll quickly do a search now as well, see what i could be letting myself in for!:D

introduce it to mr nitro and mr mors, in green aerosol form.
dont wear sandals when stripping it and be prepared to get elbow ache.

sniper22, would you advise me to follow the stock finishing article on the d.o.c site, is that the best way you think? there some items i'm not sure where i would get them or if there's differant types etc. cheers mate

we all have little secret ways of finishing the stock we love - its a personal thing. i ilike to use alkanet to darken it first.
