You send Gary cash+£5+postage, other person sends scope, Gary sends you scope, when your happy other person receives cash

I offered to buy a rifle using this service from a new member. He declined, so I withdrew the offer to buy it. He said that he wouldn't use the service or send me the rifle first even if I had 1,000,000 posts.
I tend to steer clear of sellers like that.

I've seen that thread, it hardly instills confidence, I'd advice any buyer to steer clear of that seller.

Isn't it true that the £5 gets donated to a worthy cause? I think that's a great idea and if I made a sale that wasn't face to face, I'd personally go with this method.:)

It is a first-class offer from Gary and one I would advise anyone to take up who doesn't feel sure of the seller. I've never used Gary's service but if I did and the seller refused then I would not want to deal with that person anyway.

Thanks for the confidence chaps
I have an online bank a/c for this purpose. Baz and TD are welcome to the passwords to check transactions.
Buyer sends me the cash + £5
When received I inform the seller
Seller sends the goods to the buyer
Buyer informes me of receipt and whether he is happy or sad.
If happy I transfer the money to the seller less a fiver. (both paid a fiver then)
If unhappy, buyer sends item back and I re-send money to him when the seller receives the goods back.
Maximum cost of complete safety is a fiver each. No delay, no effort.
Any monies I make go to a charity of the BBS choice.
If anybody gets ripped off for a fiver they are stupid and deserve no sympathy

If not already there, shouldn't these details appear as a sticky in the sales section?

They were for 3 months, no takers, so I took them down. Have done it for friends a few times FOC since. TBH if somebody couldn't afford the fiver I'd do it free to prevent the rip-offs.
Maybe it's time to re-instigate it as we've had a few scrotes.
The next time I sell or buy an expensive item I will use Gary's brilliant service, unless it's face to face or with a very trusted and known member. He's giving up his valuable time to help us all... and keep the scroates at bay, must be worth a fiver to charity.
This should then put a stop to the majority of rip-off merchants.;)

I`m trying to get a seller with one post to his name to agree to Garys service. He was online long enough to read the pm I sent, then disappeared.
I wonder. Have I lost a Hawke SR bargain or saved £125?
