i still have some HW45 breach seal O-rings for sale.
i bought a bulk lot as my local gun shop, chichester armoury, tried to charge me £4 for one of them (without p&p).
even more reasonble retailers charge £2 - £3 each plus another couple of quid p&P. :(
here, i'll give you 6 for just £3, & that includes P&P.
so if you're lucky enough to have an HW45 then why not get these while they're still available.
PM me if you need these & let me know if you prefer paypal (no extra charge) or cheque.

did you know the old hw45's and the new ones take different sized breech O-rings?
:)

Just received my set, thanks. Will have to check they're the right size and my HW45 is not new. If they're not I'll take them in to the shop. :)

thanks for the info. i hadn't heard that before. i just spoke to my local shop & they knew nothing about it either.
my 45 doesn't have the new fibre optic sights or have the white writing on the side & they're the correct ones for that.
any problems with sizing for your 45 though & you'll get a full refund.
thanks,
jc

the old hw45 has a smaller thicker seal in comparison to the new 1.
i know this cos i had both a new 1 and an old 1,i mislaid the seal(but found it afterwards:) ) from the old 1 and tried the spare seal that came with my new 45 and it was a different size.

ok, thanks for that. in that case the seals i have may not fit the new 45s.
however, if in doubt, order anyway because i'll refund in full if you're not 100% satisfied.
thanks.

recieved today:)fit my 45 which is a 92 model ok.it seems strange that you say the new seals don,t fit the older 45's as the last seal I bought from Chambers earlier this year fitted no problem and is the same size as the ones from 40apple40 unless they were old stock at Chambers ;)

Would these fit an HW75? I used to have a 45 and I think the upper frame, barrel etc are identical apart from the latch mechanism.

i've had no one come back yet to say they've had a problem though.

it was less than what they are charging for them now about £1.50 or there abouts also I was ordering so other bits from them so the postage cost weren't to bad;)but if you ordered just a breech seal and paid the minimum postage they charge then it works out :eek:

I bought some seals from you and they should arrive soon. I have bought a 45Silver Star that I am collecting next week and it has a spare new seal with it. I will compare and let you know. If it is not right I do not want a refund ( 2 squid bargin) I shall simply pass them on to someone on here who needs them for 16.00, no-no 2 squid same as. Cheers.

oops, my mistake, they are £1.73 + P&P at chambers as you said. looked at the wrong gun :rolleyes:that makes the £4 they charged at chichester armoury seem even worse!

Looks like they'll fit my older HW45. I'll take the gun and seals to work on Friday and fit one to make sure. I'll also compare them to the seals in the new HW45s we have in stock.

i've had just one person who's gun these didn't fit-it looks like some of the very early versions differ.
no problem though as if in the unlikely event they don't fit, you'll get refunded anyway.:)

The HW40 and HW45 use a #009 nitrile o-ring for the breech seal. I think I'm currently using a #009 quad seal which also works fine. If I remember correctly, the first year of production for the HW45 used a metric 5mm ID seal with a 1.5mm cross section. They didn't stick with this size too long.
You can read the 009 o-ring seal size here.
