Just done a complete strip and renovation on a very grubby theoben rapid mk1 belonging to a mate. It turned out better than i expected considering the very poor condition. It now functions perfectly.
However, the mags dont index properly. It came with five, which appear past their best anyway. Once filled and first shot fired, working the bolt results in the red dot showing in the window. The unit has spun directly to empty.
All the mags are like this. Are they likely shot or resurectable? If it were my rifle i would junk the mags and buy fresh, but doing it for someone else i thought i would explore the options. Also i have not owned a rapid so am unsure how it should index properly anyway. My own experience is that of my Daystate Harrier.

Cheers guys.

no disrespect but have you loaded them properly ?
you have to wind the mag all the way round against spring pressure then put the first pellet in this holds the spring and allows you to fill the rest of the slots at your leisure

Turn in the direction of the arrow till it stops, put a pellet in then allow to rotate antclockwise, easing the spring to fill?

Cheers Dwarf. Just tried it and it works.

What the hell! cheers Allan. I was thinking about 25 quid each for .22. Going to sort them, although the allen head screw in the centre of each is just a rusty spot which doesnt bode well.
Out of five one, maybe two seems to function the rest have no spring pressure or ping when they get to a certain point.
