anyone running a hornady 65 gr V max head in their .243 for fox,
if so what load data have you got to share.
thank you,
bob.
I was using 44.9 of RL15 and it was nice and accurate and was highly explosive. I did find that the Nosler 70s gave me more accuracy beyond 200 yards though.

Hi, Bob, Let Us Know How You Get On Please, As I Was Thinking Of Trying Some Of These Too [waiting 'til The Game Fair So I Can Have A Good Look At What's Available In That Weight Or Maybe Lighter?] Having Great Success With The Nosler 70's Though And Am Wondering If It's Really Worth My While Even Bothering With Anything Else!:)

hi bud. i will see how we got on.
I'm in the same boat with the 87s i find them great for deer and fox, but i would love a fox round on its own that's a tad lighter on its feet.

I use the 65 gr V-max with 41.6gr Varget, Norma brass and Rem 7 1/2 (Non Magnum) Large rifle primers. They leave the gun at 3550 fps. I have now moved on to 55 Noslers and these leave the 65 standing. I use 44.8 gr of Varget in that load with no change to brass or primers. The Remington primers made all the difference with the Varget for me. I dont know what the FPS is for the 55`s but according to the load data it is 4000+ I will know more once Hares ear has finished with the team chrono. I dont plink with the 243 so the barrel should be ok.

thanks Bob.
i am using h4350, but i have yet to find a powder weight for a 65 gr bullet using this powder., as for the 55's i think the 65 will be fine @ 3550 fps, i have yet to find anything in this country that i shoot at that can run faster than my fps with 87 gr heads as it is :D

bob, i'm using H380 [40.6 grains] behind the Nosler 70 grain BTs' and they are very flat out to 250 yards :)i like the sound of the 55 grainers mentioned by bobb.d :D

The powder you are using is next to N160 on the burn chart you will struggle with that as it will be a little slow for what you doing. Give Varget a go combined with the Rem 7 1/2 LRP and you will not go wrong. If it does you will have no trouble selling it on.
