Gun dog, falconry displays. Every rifle, shotgun, air rifle and kit you could possibly want to look at. A beer tent..:D and loads of interesting/likeminded people to chat with.

Can't wait

Is it just me or is the midland over rated ?
I went last year to show my terriers and have a chat with the lads, but i still found it a bit boring.
The airgun bit was ok but nothing to write home about.

Hi, I went last year. It was great. It is held at Weston-under-lizard in Shropshire if my memory serves me well. (Telford way). It was on the 20th and 21st September last year, so I would imagine it will be around the same sort of dates this year.:-)

I had a great time shopping, loads of show deals to be had! (Its a woman thing I'm sure:D)

The only thing about that event was the traffic leaving the site at the same time! It took us nearly 2 hours to get three miles down the road so be warned!
Best to leave by about 4pm to miss that hell!:(

I'll be working there again this year.
At around 5.30pm on Sunday afternoon ( providing you come armed with lager, steak sandwiches or fags ), you'll get some tremendous bargains from me, purely for the reason the more stuff I sell, the less I have to lump back onto the van... :D

No, no, you're wrong there, Mick. You'll have to correct the internal memo to;

'....at the Gamefair, Craig has loads of stuff that I definately want. I can wind him up all I like as I'll be buying a couple of MFR's and a MK3 or two from him.....'

There you go mate, happy to help:D :D

funny you should say that, cos i was thinking about saving up for a serious pcp in time for the midland... just wondering in the meantime, do people walk round with ridiculous amounts of cash or do you have a mobile PDQ? sorry in advance for being thick!!

no idea... but it's the thing you swipe cards with in shops!! what i'm asking is... will i have to bring a fat wad of cash or are there card facillities?

Supermick

There are some stalls which take swipe cards, but most don't. However, there are cash dispensing machines around the site, the only snag being that IIRC there is a 2 handling charge which is OK if you're taking 100 out but not so good if you want less.

Go with a wad of cash mate, slap it on the table and you could walk away with a steal.

BTW Craigs stall had some great bargains last year. I was with Bones when he got a nice scope at a good price;) , its well worth a look.

It's the one with all of the ladies standing around it and the devilishly handsome, very well endowed, virile, young assistant behind the counter....

...i'll ask him to post the location a little nearer to the time :D

wHAT TIME DOES THE FAIR OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC??

Supermick
12-09-2004, 07:06 AM
The site is open almost continually for campers to arrive, etc, but the stalls tend to keep normal shop type hours,ie, 9-ish to 6-ish.

John Knibbs and Chambers specialise in spares and they are usually at the Gamefair mate so you've got a chance. If they haven't got the parts there they'll probably be able to order them for you.

The airgun bit was ok but nothing to write home about. Could you possibly pass up the opportunity to meet all the known faces (names , signatures ) of the bulletin board? I'll go around looking for people with big signs on my back saying "I'm Micky Spillane, talk to me" I wouldn't miss this event if I'd won the lottery (if I had i'd buy the lot)

A word to the wise...
If you're intending to visit The 'Airgunner' stand 'tis best to take cider as Dave is partial to the juice of the apple.

Mick

(Don't take too much, you don't want him following you home...) ;)
