Evnin all
Anyone out there own, or can otherwise lay your hands on a BrattonSound Extra Deep Sentinal + gun safe?
What I'm after is confirmation of the internal depth.
Various ads. I've browsed seem to dissagree :( .
While all quote EXTERNAL depth as 346mm, they refer to internal depth being either 24mm or 57mm less than external measurement. i.e. internal being 322mm or 289mm. Quite a BIG difference, and pretty critical when I'm looking to squeeze in an AA400 with mil-pro scope and large(ish) John Harris sidewheel.
If a BBS member has one of these cabinets within reach - and a handy tape measure .......
I'd be very grateful.
Cheers

The newer Brattonsound cabinets have double skinned doors that I think swallow a good inch and a half of inside space, and don't open as wide as the single skin doors on the older spec safes, thus making it more difficult to insert and remove guns. You can still get the old spec ones to order, with single skin door and two locks instead of one. Personally I prefer them

Just measured my 6 month old RL7+,
289mm internal with the door closed;)
The newer doors are a lot better for security.

Looks like the Attleborough Accessories (web page info says doors are 24 mm thick) have got it wrong.
Thanks loads guys.

Hi Seggy
What does yours measure EXTERNALLY? This suggests its as much as 6mm 'thinner' outside.

Thanks - again - for your replies.
Given several people saying that their safes are smaller than suppliers say in their ads and website, I have now bitten bullet and e-mailed Brattonsound for confirmation of current specification of the RL5+ and RL7+ models.
Will post answer on the BBS in this thread.

The OFFICIAL news from Brattonsound (replied to my e-mail today) is that all the EXTRA DEEP, Sentinal Plus rifle safes are:
346mm external depth
55mm door thickness
290mm net usable interior depth
I'll now be ordering an SL7+.
Difficult to imagine, but has anyone on the BBS found a source offering better Brattonsound prices than JSR??
Cheers
