HW77 vs HW97 - What say you?

Do you guys consider these two guns equal in terms of performance for plinking & FT use? Assuming both guns had similar tunes and custom stocks for scope use...

I think the 97 has a better balance and allso looks much better.

Always been a sucker for the 77k myself - never took to the 97 in the same was as there seemed to have been a couple of quality issues with pistons etc - and the two I had were way over the limit. Give me a nice 77 any day - still waiting for TD to let Baz led Emily out so I can enter the HFT springer challenge..........guess I will be waiting a while then;-)

I was curious as to how welll the 97's Chamber dampens the report versus the 77...I honestly like the 77's compact size but will accept the 97's length if it is significantly better which appears to not be the case.

Totally agree Dave, I think the balance of the 97 is considerably better, especially the Mk 2

I know the 77 has iconic status but a soon as I picked up a 97 after a 77 I knew which one I wanted :)
