well recently got a slot for .357 lbr with the usual Taurus in mind but someone responded to a wanted add with a Ruger mmm yummy.

its a 12" barrel with the blair brace as a straight rod only.
gun is fully Stainless whith a weaver rail and leupold scope fitted.

First impressions are ............bleedin hell it weighs as much as my Marlin.
This is not a handgun for wimps or people with arthritis :o the weight does tame the recoil but even with this much weight you can still tell the differene between target homeloads (say 6grains of blue dot on a 180gn semi) and fullhouse magnum.

First outing I managed a ragged 3" grouyping at 25 yds centered on the bull (after a bit of tweaking to the scope as it seemed to be 4" low to start with, maybe just my grips is wrong ...who knows)

Superb build quiality and precise indexing of the cylinder with a nice zero play lock up on single action...mmmmm crisp

It wioll cost you a lot if you can find one but they are worth seeking out if you have the biceps to hold it on aim......me I'm going to get that bullworker out and start practicing with buckets of water :D

About 4 years ago I bought a new in the box stainless Super Redhawk in .44 mag, it was a really lovely thing, but whichever way I tried it, it just too heavy for me.

It was an easy decision to sell it as it cost me £400, so I sold it when I was made an offer I couldn't refuse :D.

If I had kept it, I would think it would have probably risen year on year in value.

So I would say get one if you get the chance as your money should be safe.

After thinking about it for a long time, I finally gave into the urge to by a Taurus .44 mag, fitted with a few little tweaks, no television arial wrist brace, just a straight rod, also Hoque grips and a weaver rail fitted with a Japanese made Weaver red dot, it is not as nice a thing as a Ruger, but has a decent trigger, is very accurate and makes me smile when I shoot it, It's had about 400 full chat magnums through it, plus about 100 downloaded .44's, then about another 1000 .44 Special rounds through it.

I've had 2 light strikes, thats all, no other problems, just pick up and shoot.

I paid considerably less than the current £699 list price, so if I sold it I wouldn't lose much money.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I have two friends who have fired 1000's of rounds through their Taurus .44's , with no problems.
