A spring guide and top hat in a springer made of stainless steel or the before mentioned made of a lighter material; How will it influence the powder output of the springer? Which one will deliver the highest pellet velocity?

hi 95% of all top hats/spring guides are made out of delrin/ptfe [plastic] so to not add to much weight to the piston. there only there to stop metal to metal contact and let the spring rotate smoothly .a spring guide made out off metal will have no effect on power [its in the wrong end ], where a top hat made out of metal will up the power [just like adding washers inside the piston] i would have thought a metal top hat would equell 3 or 4 washer`s in the piston atb john

I think adding weight at thec top of the piston will also increase recoil its a fairly precise science that needs a bit of fine tuning but when you get it right it will be very satisfying.
