I have a 1936 German Elektron bomb to auction .....

for Grayling's/Clifftop's TREATS FOR TROOPS initiative.

Here. (http://img39.imageshack.us/g/picture015large.jpg/)

I have seen that a similar item has sold for £200, but mine is not totally original due to the tail fin not having any paint on it.

This item was given to my late Father, but has been in the attic for many years. Whilst it has no sentimental value, I want it to achieve the max value for the above-mentioned initiative.

I don't know exactly where the bomb was found in Liverpool, but there is no damage to it other than it has been de-fused. [the firing mechanism parts are still in it.]

Neil has kindly uploaded 2 photos, but I have other pictures detailing serial numbers and other data. I will ask him to upload the others.

Considering that this item was considered to be consumable , the quaility of workmanship is superb.

I think that a reserve of £130 is appropriate.

EDIT: the tail fin is NOT fixed to the body.

Edit @ 10 Feb: The auction ends 23:00 11 Feb

Since Eggs on Leggs already put a bid of £50, I'd like to say £60.

I hope it hasn't got any TNT still in it :D

*** Edit: Or Thermite, for that matter :o

Oh yes I have, but only as long as it is kept secret from my friends that the money is going to a pair of middle aged men who want to use it to by sweeties for young soldiers.;)

That was because I offered £50.00 in General, then you put the reserve at £130.00 here.:D
