Hi have changed to this from the FTR, because of shot count.
Originally ordered the 500ml version with some uncertainty as to muzzle heaviness.
When it arrived at the RFDs it was a 400. Looked and handled so nice, I changed my mind.
Opted for a wood upgrade and wasn't diasppointed- it looks great.

Interestingly over the chrono, Rangemaster HEs and JSB exacts were the only pellets to make over 11ft lb. As soon as I seated the pellets slightly into the mag with a short pencil, the velocities of the JSBs went up and consistency was great. I can only imagaine that hand seating into the mag wasnt enough and the tails were shaving.

Usual expected accuracy- over 35m from a bag, 10 shot groups about the diameter of the end of my middle finger. Tiny spinners not safe out to 47m plus.

Shot count must be around the 260+ mark from a 180 bar fill. Increasing the fill pressure to 200bar just cuts down the velocity for a while as you might expect.

The in barrel mod is quiet enough, and trigger great. Up there with my HW100TK as my best airgun ever. Thoroughly recommended:)

My only objection to the Air Ranger is that you have to pull the bolt back in to your body to cock and load. This makes it more difficult to keep your target in view. I started a thread some while ago comparing the AR with the Rapid which unfortunately I can't find at the moment. I still prefer the Rapid but the AR is a very fine rifle.
