after selling air rifle and using the powder burners more. i wanted to get back into doing abit of air rifle shooting.

so found a nice daystate harrier 177 single shot. from a nice lad on here steve. a price was agreed and deal was done

i had a harrier 177 before when i was around 20 years old so new what to expect. a good solid no fills rifle.

the rifle has a nice walnut ambi stock. it looks big and heavy but the rifle over all is very well balanced. the trigger is a joy to use nice let off with no creep.
i was told the rifle was doing a very consistant 11.5 ftlb over the chrono with air arms field pellets. with very low shot to shot variation which for a rifle that isnt regged is very good to be fair..

i topped the rifle off with sports match double strap mounts. and a bushnell legend 4x14x40 scope. with standard z plex ret which isn't to fine but fine enough to see the little 177 pellet holes on the target board. the scope itself is the older model made in the Philippines. it has much better glass then the new model Bushnell scopes of the same price.

i can tell you know from owning some nice scope over the years this scope wouldn't be out of place on a rimfire or centrefire. and imo its better then the mtc i have on a 22lr. the image is very sharp right to the edges. and front px go's right down and its still super clear.

on the business end of the rifle i have a brass adaptor which lets me screw on a 1/2 logun moderator. this makes the air rifle very silent. the ambi stock makes it ideal for me to shoot the rifle being left handed and my dad right handed. i havent took it out round the farm for a proper day yet.
but had 5 or 6 rats at the top of the garden which are after the bird feed.

ive moved on to the heavier biz magnum pellets for these and there just as accurate as the air arms pellets. after owning a couple of rapids and 3 air arms s410k
i can honestly say i like shooting this rifle more. it just feels nicer to shoot. anyone looking for a good priced air rifle who dont mind single shot.

should really take a look at these. i have a longer tube on it then normal harriers i have seen ? so i get more shots per fill ? i fill it to 165 bar and had around 50 shots before filling it back up. I think it would give more but i stick to this amount so i know where i am.

over all for the money i would give it 8 out of 10
the trigger i would score 8 out of 10
stock. not the best walnut i have seen but nice to hold and shoot so 7 out of 10
balance with the above scope and mod is great so 7 out of 10
