This is my first air rifle since a BSA Airsporter back in 1990 so you'll have to forgive me for this rather symplistic and untechnical review.
What a beautifully finished rifle....excellent quality beech stock especially for its comparitively low price tag of £199....extremely well balenced with a barrel that seems to be neither full length nor carbine.
Not a particularly heavy rifle either and has proved to be very versatile on the few outings i have had so far.
Mounting the scope was exceptionally easy with enough groove length to cope comfortably with probably any scope out there...i have a BSA bigcat 30mm (3.5-10x42) and it went on no problem and looks good too.
The mechanics of the rifle are also superb...fluent break barrel movement make reloading a breeze...the saftey brilliantly located with only a natural sweep of the thumb required for disengagement....the trigger mech is also definate and precise with easy adjustment...just needs maybe a touch of loctite to secure screw once desired trigger pressure has been determined. (can shake loose otherwise).
Chose .177 calibre as a result of general advice that seemed to indicate that i would gain a flatter line of trajectory than .22 with less drop off at longer distances......Anyway straight away after about 20 or so pellets the rifle was swiftly zeroed in....the result ..I'm either totally crap but flukey...or the rifles pretty damn good...either way its the dogs cahoonaas!!!!!!

Hope you have a recoil pin on the scope mounts! My scope marched slowly towards the rear until I changed the mounts. Great gun, but I agree strange about the barrel length. My gun is stamped "HW95" rather than "95K" but I am told the gun is only made in carbine. I am told that the barrel weight is loctited on but can be removed and a silencer added. You might also want to chrono the gun straight out of the box. I found that I needed several hundred Bisley magnums at 10.6 before the power dipped below 12 ft/lbs.
cannot go wrong with a Weihrauch.

Thanks Mike , i will definately check scope mounts...also the pellets i am using are accupell's ..basically from advice from various sources suggesting along with the Magnums they tend to suit Weihrauchs the best. ...Not sure how to calculate poundage delivered....but i take it the power issue is purely a competition and legal requirement.....how much poundage was yours kicking out straight from the box?.......cheers Matt

I would not like to say in public!! Will settle down after a few hundred heavy pellets. Don't think there is much available heavier than the Bisley Magnums, but the heavier the better.

I've had 2 of these, both .22. Lovely rifles, but power is an issue - both of mine were over. Don't see why I should have to modify a brand new rifle in order to make it legal. Weihrauch/Hull Cartridge need to sort their act out on this.

Picked up one of these new(also in .177) for my son as his first rifle on sat.
Agree with mat.24,has very solid feel to it.Had webley pro silencer fitted to it by shop not sure how much differance it makes as did not hear it before but sounds fairly quiet now.Not shot a springer for a few years, was quite surprissed at lack of recoil and how smooth to shoot it was,no spring twang just a little nudge in the shoulder as you fire.Only took a few shots to zero to.Put 200 or so shots through it and zero not moved.Did chrono it with a few shots when i got it just to check and got 800 fps all with in 7 fps.(AA field 4.52) checked today and got 3 shots at 809,very consistant i think!
Only had a chance to test accuracy over 20yds as yet with the AA's but gun more than caperble of putting them through the same hole at this range.
Overall am quite impressed, nice one weihrauch.

Bought my 95k in .22 about 9 months ago and love it (although I've just taken delivery of a tx200HC in .177 for longer range work) If I hit something with it, it goes down - full stop. Smooth, accurate and powerful. Spot on.

Love my 95K sweet to shoot and nice woodwork. it's my first springer and if all rifles are made like this man I can see the bank manager hating me.. got to admit fired a pcp and didn't fill the same.. long live the springer:D

809fps with AA Field @ 8.44grn = 12.269 ft lbs.
I'd get it checked...;)

if that dont sort it,will take coil off spring.

Just bought one of these today second hand from the for sale section. My first impressions were 'wow its lighter than it looks' (i am used to my 97k tho)but it still has that quality german feel to it. The cocking action fills you with confidence, everything feels solid and tight. Shooting the gun is an absolute pleasure, for its weight the recoil is very low, just a quick managable jerk as u pull the fantastic rekord tigger. The accuracy is pretty damn good too, my groupings are just as good as i get with my 97k, so i am pretty impressed as the price difference between the two is a fair bit. I am hard pressed to find something i do not like with this rifle. Its superb.

Brilliant gats ,these 95k`s , I honestly can`t see past them when it comes to value for money!
Kenny.
What an excellent piece of kit, I sold my lightning older version and bought this, totally solid, really accurate, excellent trigger. Very light gun and very useable in the field. With the silencer I have on mine they are extremely quiet in springer terms, it is a level of noise that does not scare away most prey it is literally comparable to pcp in so many situations. Excellent value new and excellent value secondhand though if going secondhand its worth remembering that a 97 can be bought for this sort of money, its rare but does happen; which you go for is a choice for the user neither will dissapoint. Leaps and bounds above anything I have encountered for the same price.

Just bought one, loved it after the very first shot, the trigger, the woodwork, the recoil, the feel, it all just seems to come together so well, Mine is one of the latest realeases of which Weihrauch have shortened the barrel length on, and comes with the HW100 Silencer which finishes it off nicely. :D

Just got a 0.177 HW95k today (to keep my 10year old 0.22 one company),-it`s making 11.6 FPE with AA fields and this one`s trigger is the best yet!
No wonder these rifles have had great sales success and an almost cult-like following!:D:D:D

Picked up a brand new HW95K last Friday in .177 myself, to replace my heavier HW97K in .22. Sold (unhappily as I loved it) on here this week because of spinal damage, which limits me to a max of about 9lbs for standing shots.
Saturday at range, chrono'ed at 11.4 FPE with AA Diablo Field (weighed at 8.5 gn) straight from the box.
Put about 250/300 assorted AA and Webley Lazadomes (8.5 gn- weighed), re checked with both on chrono, still 11.4 FPE average. Dieselled maybe 5/6 times over 300 rounds.
I fitted it out with a recently acquired , used but excellent nick, Tasco 2.5-10x42 WA AO Varmint/target scope, had to use a recoil stop to get the scope mounted, as it really needs a reach foreword setup because of the short dove tail grooves on the 95, but this scope is a keeper, absolute accurate AO, and brilliant clear optics, took 5 rounds at 10 yds, for basic zero, 10 rounds at 30 yds to fully zero, set and locked target type W/E adjusters, then using holdover on the mil dot scale hit a 9x7 inch metal target at 85yds, repeated several times, so this combo is very true/accurate and consistent. Should have bought a 95k a while ago in.177.
Have always been a .22 addict, up to getting this 95 in .177.
The Lazadomes are good out to 60 yds, but don't group as tight as the AA's Over 40 yds.
I intend to try a firm favorite of mine next, the RWS Superdome, and probably Crosman Premiers. Of which I have no experience. I'm not a great target shooter, as far as tight groups go, but with patience I was making 5 pellet 20p size groups at 30 yds, so I'm very happy.
Oh yes, 'fortunatley' both my gun bags are short carbine types so have had to order a new one for the 95. The missus understands!!!!
Commiserations to fellow shooter Pat whose virtually new Theo Evo .177 is suffering barrel movement straight back from Theobens following a warranty reset for the same problem. Resulting in wide grouping. Not his opinion, as it was check fired on range by several competent club members. He's not very happy.

Great rifles those 95's. Lighter and better balanced than the 97. I have a laza'd 98, an 98 is basically a deluxe 95. It's VERY accurate, I use FTT's.
