View Full Version : 30 Shot HFT @ Bisley - Part of the 2006 Phoenix Meet.

This year BFTO (http://www.bfto.org.uk/) will again be hosting an HFT shoot as part of the famous NRA Phoenix Meeting. Details of the shoot can be seen here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.holloway/bfto/webpages/p2006.htm).

The date of the shoot is May 28th and yes, it does unfortunately clash with the Anglo-American.:( It's a great alternative if you can't manage a two day shoot, or if you're one of us 'Southern Softies' and just don't fancy the 'long haul'.

The qualifying scores for the NRA Oak Leaves may yet be changed, and the online entry link will not work until after the weekend.

Also, if you have the necessary FAC, look at the Course of Fire, see what other comps you can have a go at. :D

Cheers,

Alan.

Probably not Richard :( but the NRA are usually very good and we've never had a problem yet with entries going missing. :)

I have booked on-line back on the 29-Mar but don't remember receiving any confirmation.
Would it be possible for someone to check that I am entered so that I don't double book?
Thanks In Advance.

Hi Mac,

To be honest, that's the first time I've heard of anyone getting confirmation, maybe because it was booked by post??

We at the BFTO don't know who is booked until the day, if you are worried, I would suggest getting onto the NSC site where you booked and look for a contact email on there, I think the guy dealing with the Phoenix is Brian something. I really don't think there is reason to worry though.

Cheers,

Alan.

Hi Mac

I too booked on-line (earlier this evening) BUT ... I did get almost instant e-mail (from info@nra.org.uk) confirmation of the booking with my entry summary, a reference number (starts "PHOENIX06...") and details of the comp fees paid.

If you didn't receive this e-mail I'd suggest giving them a call a.s.a.p.

Hope it's ok

Thanks to all that attended today, considering all the clashes I thought 40'ish was a fairly good turnout. :) Thanks also to all at BFTO who helped set the course - which I thought was excellent - and those that helped on the day.

I hope you all enjoyed it, all the feedback that we heard seemed positive.

Congratulations to Pod on winning with 59 (ex 60) we won't know the full results until the NRA publish the Phoenix Meet results which may be a while as we are talking 1000's of shooters. I will post a link as soon as they are available.

Cheers,

Alan.

Thanks to Dave and Sam for your company it made a good day into a great one.

Great course all very do-able, shame I couldn't.

Not bad if you think that I'm looking for;

1) Match pistol

2) New scope

3) Almost anything that catches my eye

Excellent course, one of the best and most enjoyable I've ever shot (and I'm a fussy g!t)..

http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122010

Pity this clashed with the Anglo's, I'm sure anyone who made the trip would have enjoyed it...

Thanks Alan, great job :)

Thanks again Jon.

As I said in the other thread, I can't take credit for the course, and as for the clash, the Anglo's and the NRA Phoenix meet are both always held on the same weekend so it's not something that's going to change :( :(

Alan and all at BFTO

Many thanks for a great day, all the Ford lads enjoyed it. I thought it the hardest HFT course I've ever been round, how Pod managed 59 is beyond me - I had 47 and I reckon I threw 4 points away ie a 51 and I would have been happy. The rest were so hard I didn't mind not getting them. Mind you, Chase the younger dropped peg 2(I think) standing as he couldn't see it kneeling(I didn't!). That was the shot of the day for me.

Great fun and I went back for a plink this pm. Thanks to all

Richard

, how Pod managed 59 is beyond me

:o :o :o

I had at least 4 shots that I thought I had pulled, and on most other days they would have missed, but they somehow crept in the kill zone. I had two splits where the target hesitated as if it wasn't too sure it had been hit or not, and I had one shot that went through a load of fluffy flower head stuff giving off a nice puff of white stuff before hitting the target  . It was just one of those lucky days. I would ordinarily have expected a low to mid 50s score. The target I missed was due to wind - moved the pellet about 3/4 inch. It was the first exposed lane on the return side and it just hadn't occured to me that wind might even be an issue there :( still learning....

Great course though :) :D :D

I shot round with Paul (pod) and he was on fire, we both had some targets that by the grace of god felt like they we never going to fall. TIMBER falls to mind:D .

Taking nothing away from Paul he shot very well, well done.

Just dont tell them about the push chair:D :D :D

Alan et al at BFTO

Thanks loads for a brilliant course and fun day :) .

Shot nowhere near as good as Pod (amazing result - well done m8), but given I was only a couple of points behind Jon (Buddy) B - with who I went round - and comments from elsewhere, I s'pose I should have been pretty happy with the outcome (53), including a daft doughnut in the crosswind on target 2.
