Just received my Jahti Jakt Pro hunting suit today. Ordered Monday, arrived yesterday but nobody in, so was redelivered today. This is advertised in the BASC mag and various other shooting mags and cost £180 + £9 p+p. There was also a review in one of the BASC mags which was the reason I sent for it, as the ad looked a bit too good to be true.

First impressions are excellent. The material is breathable, water and wind proof, soft and silent, a decent colour of green, and very well made. Lots of pockets, corduroy lined collar, zip front with stud fastening flap, removable hood and midge net. Very comfortable to wear, adjustable wrist straps. Jacket is lined and is a reasonable weight. Trousers are made of the same material, five pockets, zipped vents in the jacket and trousers. They are lined, have buttons on for braces, higher at the back, velcro adjusters at waist and ankle, with a waterproof lining up to shin height inside the legs.

Baseball cap, same material, green, with a pull down ear warmer flap.
Thinsulate 40g fingerless gloves, with suede leather palms.
Green, lined, zipped fleece, good weight and warm.
Thermal long sleeved top, well made and warm. Long johns to match, easy to move in. This is the base layer next to the skin.
Mid layer fleece long sleeved top (bit like the norwegian army fleece top), warm, with thumb holes to keep wrists warm (same as base layer top). Long johns to match, again easy to move in and warm.
The last item should have been a green jumper, but this was substituted for a water and windproof lined fleece. Unfortunately its bright red, but they have said I can exchange it for a jumper hopefully coming in, the beginning of January. If no jumpers then, may swap for another green fleece.
Orange safety vest. Possibly for shooting in USA?

IMO well worth the money, and will let you know how it performs in the field very soon.

Hope this is useful.

Good review Doug

I had just put an enquiry on BBS as to whether these sets were any good so I think I'll give one a go. Look forward to hearing how it performs.

If you log on to the main JahtiJakt website you can get a distributor in most european countries where the same deal is 269 euros (I think i remembered that correct) so might be easier if you live in Mainz.

Just been on the phone to Arctic Outdoor Supplies, said I can return the red fleece and exchange for an extra green fleece (same as I already have). The company have been very helpful, and returned my calls after I left a message out of hours. Great result as far as I`m concerned. Had the jacket and fleece on at the range last night. Ended up shooting in the fleece as it was too warm. Cant wait for the colder weather to give it a real test, out after the rabbits. So far so good

Hmmm tempted with that. One of the picker-ups swears by it, hes had some for several years and uses it on all the shoots he works on.

Thanks, I was just making sure I understood the deal properly as it seems pretty good. The German site's not working, but I have more than enough gear anyway so I'm ok there :D
