Just received it this morning. Ran some patches through the bore and then a nylon bristle with JB borebright. Bore cleaned up good. This is my first experience with anything russian other than firearms 40 years ago.
The rifle was full of preservative oil every where, rather like military rifles. The sights are steel with a plastic shroud on the front sight. This rifle came with a small cleaning rod(steel), a spare mainspring, and an 11 mm scope rail with holes for scope stop pins.
The stock is wood (probably beech) with a hard plastic butt plate. The fit and finish were on par with a rifle in its price range. This rifle is a brute compared to my 800X crossman. I wouldn't recommend it for people under 5' 5", or of slight build. This rifle has some features I've never run across before. It has a ratchet system in the cocking mechanism, which I found to be very usefull, considering the effort it takes to cock it. The other feature is a hammer which must be cocked before firing.(like a single action revolver, or single shot long guns of years ago.
This rifle is very powerful. They claim 800 fps in .22 but it seems that it does it with heavy pellets(17 grs). I will be doing some chronograph tests next week and have more precise details. Accuracy seems to be best with the heavier pellets. I've yet to mount a scope, but with open sights it's grouping about 2" at 50 yds.
I'll be adding to this review as soon as I can, weather permitting.:)

Hi, I thought your initial review was interesting, the rifle would seem to be a good solid workhorse if its ok, I dont think we will get to find out for ourselves in the UK because of power limits but please post with further findings and what price bracket is this in the USA.
