Wotcha,

My review of the Walther (C)P99

The Walther P99 was the replacement for the poor selling P88. Walther wanted to design a comfortable pistol that would be adopted by Police forces and Military a like.

The Co2 version, the CP99, uses the standard 8-shot magazine, has a changeable grip sizer to ensure the best fit for your hand and uses standard 12g Co2 cylinders.

Of all the Co2 guns I own this one rates as the most comfortable to aim and shoot. The contoured grip, once altered to fit the size of your hand, is not only comfortable it gives the Walther a natural feel.

The CP99 has a loud muzzle crack compared to some of the other Co2 pistols available, but the accuracy is superb.
One feature that is a surprise is the de-cocker. Just like the real thing, a small button in front of the rear sight de-cocks the pistol nicely.

The Co2 cartridge is inserted into a magazine and then into the pistol grip. To activate you need to tighten a brass thumb screw and then twist the bottom of the magazine until it punctures the cartridge. Very neat and very easy to do. You can even buy spare magazines for the CP99!

Summary
This gun feels comfortable to both aim and use. There are a wide range of "extras" available and due to the built in Weaver rail, situated under the barrel, things such as laser sights can be fitted easily. It would benefit from a sound moderator if you use it in your garden!
It is available with a nickel slide or a plain black one. The black slide tends to mark easily if put onto hard surfaces.

Overall Rating
9 out of 10
Would be 10 out of 10, but for the noisy retort from the muzzle.
Comes complete with spare 8 shot magazines and a plastic carry case

Wotcha,

My review was for the gun as it comes out of the box, not for a modified version!

Granted you can buy a silencer from many good shops, but I think they spoil the overall beauty of the gun.
The Walther CP88, the gun the CP99 replaces, is much quieter in use than this model ;)

Nice review SD - I have just got mine after always saying I'd get one. They are great fun but I wouldn't describe them as accurate. They are plinkers and fun guns and anyone wanting to target shoot could do much better than a CP99 but would need to spend a bit more. Regarding the silencer issues yes they are still quite loud even with a 5inch custom silencer - looks hard as nails

Wotcha,
With respect, the barrel in the Walther, as in most "replica's, is rifled and therefore for it's size and length is as accurate as can be expected.
They also have no recoil and in my opinion as long as you shoot within their range, they are accurate enough to use for target shooting. ;)

I used to own one, and they are more just a fun gun. Jsut incase it's of any interest, another way to decock it is to pull the slide back and then depress the trigger and hold it. Then move the slide back to resting position and release the trigger.
