I have recently bought the new Logun QGS silencer and must say it is the quietest silencer I have used. I tried it compared to my Weihrauch silencer and it was even quieter than that. I then tried it on my Air Wolf, Verminator and BSA Ultra and it was still the quietest. Well done Logun!!Worth every penny and recommended.

can you show as some pics of the internals, please?

I have a logun supa and i know for sure that it is much quieter than the Weihrauch as i have one of them as well.
Also the weihauch is not good at all with my fac airwolf and my fac gunpower

Hi All

I am new to this Air gun world and just wanted to ask a question about silencers. On cordite rifles the silencer reduces the speed of the round coming out of the barrel and as such reduces the sound.

The problem is the round is now slower and as such looses range and stopping power. Is it the same with Air weapons?

If so if you are not hunting and are just shooting at targets what is the point of a silencer?

Gary

In somes clubs people are required to use a silencer so they do not disturb people in the surrounding area. Maybe.

That would make sence,

But if you are on an unrestricted Field target shoot are you better off without the silencer?

I have never heard of a silencer/moderator significantly reducing muzzle velocity. If you shoot supersonic rounds through a moderator...you still get a supersonic crack...the moderator just removes the muzzle blast (hot air) and diffuses and disperses it throught its chambers. This also helps reduce recoil and muzzle flip. Many Deer Stalkers and mos Foxers use Mods, If there were significant reduction in velocity and range I don't think this would be the case.

It would be unnessacery for a silencer.

I buy silencers because it upsets my US friends. I say pah to your Glocks,.357s,your AR15 semi and your bow hunting I can buy a silencer for my BSA Meteor.

Im ordering my Bsa ultra brandnew from our sponser next week, and a pump from here, and shortly after, im gonna get the QGS silencer to make it quieter, For hunting it will be great.

Got my QGS yesterday from BAR (had to wait nearly 14 hours from making the order till it turned up, buck up lads, its only 250 miles!)

I tried it on my MK3 and it is quiet! I have had an Airstream and a Weihrauch on the same gun and the QGS is a tad quieter. There wasnt really any difference in noise level between the Airstream & Weihrauch, both bloody good! but the QGS pips them both, just!
I would say if you need a silencer then get a QGS but if you have an Airstream or Weihrauch probably dont bother changing

You know I've asked this question several times and no-ones come back to reply so thats telling me they'er not up to fac power levels where as the HW makes my FAC Hornet at 34ftlb quieter then a ants fart.

And no pulli you cant slip these down the barrel they'er 1/2in unf so you'd need an adaptor or screw-cut the barrel.

are you sure they dont fix onto the barrel
check out the web site

as you see, you can select which gun the silencer is to fit????
the older logun silencer is more expensive than the new one?????

Pulli you can fit a logun silencer yes but the one I'am on about is this new one called QGS which only comes in 1/2ins unf,now this is the silencer I want to know do they work in fac format?Cause lots of silencers work in sub 12's but in FAC its a diffrent story.

rapid 7
and air arms s400/410

yup, this is probably the quietest silencer on the market, a bit more robust than the hw silencer and about 1db quieter (apparently), the dogs!

im not so sure the logun silly name is quieter but itsa different sound, slightly duller than the airstream 3 or weihrauch.
at 30 yards i dont supposed bunykins will notice the results til his lights go out

Verminhunter is asking the question I am interested in-how does this work at FAC levels? He is absolutely right-as usual-that a lot of silencers which are excellent at legal limit just don't work on FAC rifles and definitely don't work well above 30 ft lb. Most are OK up to 30 ft lb but at 40 ft lb the only ones that I have tried that seem to work are the Rob Lane and the AWT.. A proper evaluation of this Logun against the HW/RL/AWT would be very helpful.

Also the uk neil internals are the bees knees in high power stuff too,I've got one on me 34ftlb rapid also the bsa hornet running at 34ftlb ,I have not heard a quieter fac rifle then the hornet and I will put money on that, bring any 34ftlb side by side and we'll see and the hw silencer is capable of serious power any time of the day, remember the hornet first came out at 45ftlb!and the hw held its ground very well.

Yes there are alot of claims this ones the mutts nutts aw this ones great or I've got the quietest rifle, from what Ive gone through in FAC levels only a handfull make it to the top,the rest just sound like a shotti going off.I wont mention any names but afew that are good makers of silencers when put on a fac rifle sound like a bomb has gone off:D

I tried a few in my Rapid 34ftlb and they sounded like a shot-gun going off, poor mrs nearly jumped out of her nickers.:D :D

Seriously those our Man UK neil is very quiet with also his internals, and at high power and super magnum power levels they DO work trust me I've done the whole lot.
The hw silencer is very quiet infact its the quietest and again the hornet at 34ftlb sounds like a babys fart, put it on my rapid with an adaptor and it sound very quiet but at super magnum like 50ftlb and over you'll blow it bits in no time where as neils ones will handle the power no probs.

Got one on my MFR fac 30.5ftlb,yes nice silencer and makes the rifle look awesome but again no diffrence between the evo/vortex with neils internals and the awt.As said neils ones are abit more robust internally and you can wash his ones out without probs either.

it may seem quieter pulling the trigger but is it quieter 30 yards downrange where mr and mrs bunny are having their picnic???

noise level behind the scope means nothing to me TBH.

I'm going to be testing that myself on the weekend, i'll get downrange and get my mate to fire my guns. My hw97 has a bit of bang when fired but as you say, downrange noise is totally different.
