Above is the chrono string from my HW100K. As you can see I put 5 mags over it (70 shots, 69 of these were useful then it strarted dropping off.)
I filled it to 200 BAR and used unwashed, unsorted JSB heavy pellets, weighing in at an estimated 10.33 grains. The power varied from 11 ftlbs to 11.8 ft lbs but the vast majority were around 11.5 (709 ftps). I think this is consistent enough for a hunting rifle, had it not been for a few blips, the average would have been quite impressive.
These blips didn’t show on the range as I zeroed at 30 yards (on a bi-pod) and was getting nearly one-holers. With the scope on 8 mag and 1.5 inches from the boar I was hitting 40mm kill zones at anywhere between 20 and 35 yards. With the 1st mildot down on the bottom of the kill zone 40 yard kills were easy and with the 1st mildot bang in the middle, 45 yard kills were being hit just about every time. Just for a laugh I had a go at the 55 yarder and with the 2nd mildot down I was hitting this almost every time too.
It took me one magazine to zero it and the rest of the charge to get used to the different aim points before I took it onto the HFT course at Wendover where I scored a respectable 70 out of 80. This was possible in part because of the fantastic trigger the HW comes with, the only thng i can do to give you any idea is that it's like a refined S410 trigger.
These really are great rifles, they are well built, with a great cocking mechanism and a top class finish to all materials. Lots of people at the club expressed interest and lots comented on how well thought out the single shot adaptor is and they'd be right, it's a joy to use and dare I say it, pretty cool too.
I took it lamping last night and even though I wasn’t presented with a shot, I can say that the HW100 is a good weight and balance for lamping plus it's the quietist thing I've not heard, quieter than the X2 (Airstream attached), the MFR, the S410, S200, S10 and Rapid to name a few.
Out of all of the rifles I have owned, this one rates very highly with the best of them, including the MFR I had. For the price you really can't go wrong as soon a you see one in the flesh and handle it, you'll want it.
