Good points.
1. Great stock
2. Best trigger on any air rifle
3. Great magazine system
4. You cannot double load the gun
5. Pressure gauge is more accurate than the gauge on my divers bottle
6. Single shot adapter for HFT and gun club use
7. Very Deep blueing
8. Its pin-point accurate
9. Built quality, you won't find a better built rifle outside of a Ripley
10. Easy filling thanks to the new quick fill.
Bad points.
1. Its a heavy gun.
2. The stock is so good I almost don't want to take it hunting and risk dints and scratches.
3. Anti-tamper, I can't adjust the power (if needed) myself.
Marks out of 10
Accuracy 10/10
See the groups at 30 and 40 yards here (http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/4716/shotsrt1.jpg)
Finish 10/10
Well finished stock and blueing that would have Air Arms green with envy
Shots Per Charge 10/10
95 in .177 more than enough for a days decoying or a nights bunny bashing.
Ease of fill 9/10
The new quick fill is a little stiff to get in and out, might work in after a while.
Cocking Effort 10/10
You can cock the rifle with your little finger.
Handling 9/10
Like I said its a tadge on the heavy side.
Trigger 10/10
The best I have ever used.
Magazine System 10/10
Bomb proof, easy to load into the rifle and easy pellet loading. Two included with the rifle.
Noise on firing 10/10
So quite you will wonder if it has gone off. The Weihrauch silencer is one of the best on the market.
Value for money. 9/10
At the best part of £600 it ain't cheap but you get 2 magazines and the silencer included.
Overall 97/100
I traded in my Daystate X2 because it had a very annoying habit of creeping over the legal limit. So I thought I would get a high quality regulated rifle and I liked the look of the HW100. After a day on my practice range and the gun club I found the rifle deadly accurate Buggs Bunny better have his life insurance up to date:D , with me and my Claudia around. Yes I have given my rifle a girls name and yes I watched Full Metal Jacket once to often:D
I haven't had the chance to chronograph the rifle yet but it was doing 11.5flb in the shop after I put 1000 shots through the rifle I will give it a full test.
I find the rifle shoots Daystate Selects 4.51 better than any of the German pellets. If you are looking for a high quality and accurate hunter and don't mind a heavy rifle get the HW100.

good review:) although a couple of constructive criticisms. the trigger isnt the best air rifle trigger, it might be the best youve used but a properly set up ft gun trigger will leave it for dust. and personally i wouldnt have given that accuracy 10/10 but that is a personal thing:) very well thought out review and very helpful though

As Ross says clearly a dedicated FT trigger would be better and so also is the Theoben series 4 as fitted to the latest Rapid/MFR. :D It may come as a shock to hear someone praise a Theoben trigger but it is seriously good. Try one and see for yourself.
I recently bought a HW100 on here-without the anti tamper which I object to very much indeed- and I must say that I like it very much. Quality of build, accessories-especially the single shot adapter which is a GEM-and everything about the rifle shouts 'quality'. Everything that is except the stock which shouts 'plank' and the detachable cylinder which given the length of time Weihrauch waited before bringing out a precharge is surprisingly clumsy.I would expect German designers to have incorporated a quick fill system-am I dreaming or does the latest HW100 have QF?- and an on- board pressure guage rather than fit every cylinder with its own individual guage which to me is a waste of money.
An excellent and helpful review-thanks very much.

Nick,
The latest 100's are quick-fill, thanks to UK demand, as PCP's in Germany need to have removable cylinders (some quirky Kraut Law I think???) As for the stock, if you don't like the thumbhole simply buy a Sporter version, better than any Rapig plank for sure...
Then factor in the cost and you've got a rifle that wee-wees all over any Theoben offering with the exception of higher shot count.;)
BTW, you're wrong about the trigger too.:p :D

Incidently, do you score twice as much as the HW users, or even more than thre times as much as the AA400 users while on the FT scene...?

Thanks Dave I had a feeling that QF had been fitted to later versions.
Having used both I honestly don't agree about the trigger although the HW100's is more than adequate.:D

on saturday at the csfta winter league hft i beat the closest hw100 by 9 points if thats what you mean:D im not disputing the price of my gun as i also would expect it to have a better trigger but then to say the hw100 has the best trigger just isnt true is it:)

Yes, just buy a new air reservoir of the correct size and specify that you want quickfill. In fact, the K air reservoir will fit on my Sporters and another member has done the same, to improve handling. I haven't tried the K cylinder on the Thumbhole version, but I think that you might need to trim a few millimetres from the forend woodwork on one side, to allow insertion of the QF probe.
cheers flufy;) how much is a new res any idea

About £140, depending where you buy from. Make sure you specify the QF cylinder, or you may end up with an older one! You would be able to cover part of your costs by selling your curent cylinder.
how much are the old ones going for fluff :)

I had a HW100K for a few weeks - very nice / accurate gun. The reason I sold it is because I dscovered that I could not adjust the power if I needed to. That basically made it useless for competition (HFT) and no use to me.
As already said a few times - trigger is good but it depends what you have to compare it to.

I bought my HW100 in May and upto the end of the year I had shot just over 500, I bought a cheap chinese quad of **** in september and that has increased my catch the most I got on one night was 48, that was just after the farmers had harvested the crops so they hadn't been shot at for a while on those fields.

Really good review Tom and I agree right down the line. I don't know what Weirauch have done re the mark 3 model (mine is a mark 2) re anti-tamper so I can't comment. However, it is a superb gun. No doubt about that whatsoever.

These opinions are good to read, but I have to agree with DeadEye Tom
I think the HW100T is just superb, and deadly accurate in the right hands.

Nice review and I pretty much agree with it all as I have just been out today and bought one! (My second 100 Karbine to add as I bought one when I first started shooting and sold it cos the wife did not want to shoot - got tempted back to the dark side though!) Im surprised at the shot count though - is it as many as 90 in .177 for the karbine? My local gunshop told me it was only around 70 which is enought for HFT which is going to be its sole use but if it is closer to 90 then Im going to be well chuffed!!!

I think the shot count on the .177 carbine would be closer to 70 rather than 90, I get about 90 on the .22 HW100T

Well I had 71 good quality shots out of my 100k during a test yesterday on one fill so Im still chuffed -its enough for an HFT round.

Anyone else experienced trigger problems with thier rifle due to the gap between stock and trigger action allowing a pin to come out?
Mine did after only a few shots from new. Had to tape the pin over to keep it in place.
Cracking gun over-all just a bit dissapointed by this slight design flaw.

The hw100 has the most advanced yet simple magazine system I have ever used.
The gun is fantastic, 14 shots ready to go, no way can you jam it by a double load, it's nay on silent, damm accurate.
But a sling is a must.
The fool proof mag system makes this the perfect lamping gun, no farting with cold pinkies trying to reload.
Just one gripe, my trigger is deadly soft, and the manual is really of little help about this area of the gun.
GO AND BUY ONE NOW- YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.:D

My HW100 is excellent, couple of niggles which are now all sorted. I have added a Sportsmatch one piece mount and V MACH cylinder-its looking damn smart! I am in the process of obtaining a skeleton stock for it, will post piccies when it arrives:)
That stock is stunning!
