I am currently using a Deben 143 NV, but I find the 2.5 x mag a severe limitation, and as it was a second hand item to try NV I am looking to now replace it as I am hooked. Seriously thinking of a add on unit to go on my 9-24 x 56 night eater, what are your opinions on add on systems compared to a Gen 1 NV unit. I know if I spenf thousands I will get what I pay for but looking to keep it sub 500.:o
Your thoughts.

As from today (well tonight) I'll be using a V8-line. Thinking of getting a doubler though.

Look in the March edition of Gun Mart. ;)
Just what you're looking for, in your budget.

You might find that having a 9x minimum mag is too much - I'm sure that the NV experts on here, however, will be able to give you the benefit of their vast experience though! :)
I,m useing the Hakko system
Day/night 1.5-6x42 2nd gen .
The one thats a normal scope that you just remove the rear bell then replace it with the night vision optical bell.
No add ons no need for long eye releif scopes so the gun can be used as normal when not in NV mode .
Its going onto the AR soon as the barrel is chopped and re-threded and the gun is re-built.

Paddy, I am sure that's a typo and it should be 6-24x56:)
The Scope should be fine for an add-on system, I'll leave some of the guy's that have got add-on system's already to comment on what they think to their systems performance.
Regards Rob
Aah - that'd make sense! :)
