I have a Yukon 'Titanium'2.5 x 50 Gen 1. The variety that has a focusing lens.
It seems fair, for what I have in mind, but I'm not happy with the mount. It puts the sight very high, and not far back enough. I've tried it on a variety of rifles and still cant get it sitting just right.
What I'm wanting to do is to remove the mount fitting from the sight and replace it with one robbed from another, dysfunctional, sight, which looks like it will do the job better.
I telephoned some business organisation or other (Not Soviet Bazzar) and spoke to some very foreign sounding individual, who insisted that removing the mount by removing the nuts that hold it to the scope body will mess up the tube mounting and stuff the scope. He wanted me to send it to him to do the job (at no mean price, I might add).
The job looks straight forward, but he's got me worried. Anyone had one of these apart, or knows the structure of the mounting system?
