I am thinking of buying myself a Merlin Gen1 NV.
For the owners of one of these please can you tell me if you think its worth buying one and also the pro's and con's?
Thanks

Only 'con' as far as I can see, is the added length to your optical system. I have pretty much gotten around this by using Reach Forward mounts. My dayscope is mounted further away from my head, than it might otherwise need to be. When I put the add-on system behind the dayscope, I don't need to move my head backward so far that it becomes uncomfortable. I've been using this system for some years now, and I've not seen anything else perform as well for the money......
Not all dayscopes perform well, so maybe another 'con' is that the system performs best with a mid-range scope, rather than a budget one. A brand new, completely suitable scope comes in at £100 when bought with the system from some suppliers. Look for the airgun 'Pro' kit. ;) [£640 with scope and rings.]
Pro's?
Use it on every gun you own (except springer air rifle), so you don't need to duplicate calibres for dedicated NV.
Higher magnification than dedicated provides.
Small light system.
Low cost.
:) :) :)
