In very good condition, I think I read somewhere these were the first commercially produced sidelevers. The stock is light coloured ? walnut .

By Webley, yes, followed by the Webley Tracker, and then the Webley Viscount (which I have a version of :p). All detailed are basically the same rifle with just minor up-dated model differences separating them. All three of these were/are fantastic bits of kit, great fun to shoot, and IMHO represent a very user friendly range of highly collectable Webley rifles. The price quoted above is also very fair indeed especially given that the one on offer has a walnut stock, and is (again IMHO) a really good buy... Looks like wadoker got in there first however, so well done to him and ali d -- a good sale, a good purchase, but above all, a good BBS deal all round :). ATB: Gareth W-B.

I've seen ali d's photographs of this rifle, it's a very clean and cared-for example, looks hardly used. In fact, I think it's too nice for me!

50% size photos are here:

Sorry to correct Gareth W-B but the stock is natural (i.e. unstained) beech, to my eye it looks a lot better than the usual dark-stain 'walnut wannabe' effect.

One of you collectors with your dehumidifed secure warehouses should have it . .

Correct away matey, correct away, and yes, doesn't it look great :)! Love these, but won't go for it (sorry ali) as have the Viscount version as stated four posts above. For the record though, the only reason I commented on how wonderful the stock must be in walnut, was up until Sarf's photo post, the only info I had to go on was ali d's as here...

No matter however, it is a truly lovely rifle and I for one can't understand why it hasn't sold yet -- especially at that price  and as Thegreg says above ...

So from one Webley side-lever owner to another, ali d, have a bump on me :D. ATB: Gareth W-B.

Hi Greg, yep I know exactly what you mean, except I succumb because I am weak . Every day for nearly a month I took a look at Ali's advert and thought hummm, still not sold. I finally buckled last night (glad I did though :p). Trouble is, as I have an Osprey (or at least will do when it arrives ;)) and a Viscount, I've got to fill the middle bit in as well now, haven't I? Anyone got a mint Tracker for sale (preferably in walnut) :D? Ha ha! ATB: Gareth W-B.

ps. cheers for the inspiration Greg, I have poached you style of signature :o.

Hi ali d aka Alistair. The Osprey arrived today and is even better than expected :D. Thankyou for a lovely deal. Going to whack half a tin of lumps (pellets) through it this afternoon, give it a nice oil (not that it really needs it -- its in lovely condition), and place it next to my Webley Hawk MkII in the rack where it will live between outings :) ... Once again, thanks Alistair, and to anyone thinking of dealing with ali d I say you can do so with complete impunity ;): ATB: Gareth W-B.
