Bought my first NV system with a IR on Friday, tried it out last night before attaching it to the dayscope and it was excellent - very clear etc.

When I attached it to my day scope I can see the reticle very clear and see through the scope clear apart from the bottom 30% of the picture is a blur, so I can only have the vision of the top 70% through my scope.

I cant work out what is causing this to happen, has anyone had a similar problem or any ideas if I am doing anything wrong.

I have followed all of the instructions so I cant think what is causing this. When I took the NV back off the day scop the picture was all clear again.

Thanks

Paul

i'm guessing if this is an xvd type system that you have left the built in illuminator on and are getting a reflection back into the scope.

That's what I first thought of. I dont use the built in IR as I bought a stronger IR which attaches to the side on the NV. My new IR is positioned to the left side and under the scope so I dont think its that reflecting off the top of the barrel or silencer.

Any other sugestions?

Thanks

couple of ideas for you , try realining the illuminater it could ether be partly blocked or not zeroed to your scope or your xvd is not allined with the back of your scope properly

Possible a silly suggestion but....does the monocular have a lense cap with a hole in it for daytime zeroing, and have you taken this off?

Always worth asking the bl€€din obvious:D

Hi Rob

Thanks for the reply.

I am away from home for 2 weeks so I'll have a look next time I'm home and let you know if this is the case.

Thanks again.
