:D from my latest thread you will see that i have just got permission on a golf ocurse and its my first time on it tonight. i went in the day to see where everything is and there is loads of ponds with lots of teal on them ;)
when me and my dad were walking round we must of say 10-25 sat out in the rain so i carnt imagine what its going to be like tonight.:D
im thinking of using my xvd until i sell it or should i use the lamp i dont think they have ever bin lamped over before so it could work. has anyone got any tips on the best way to approach it. should i go ther early and snipe them off as they come or should i just travel as see what i can get :D

the yukon monocular i have was anly good out at say the most 40 yards could this have anything to do with the x1 mag thats on it. is that reducing the viewing distance

If you gave SOME indication of why you think it's only good to 40 yards, some of us might be able to confirm either way.....
Out of focus? [I've tried to explain about re-parallaxing your day scope.] Not enough light?
Missing the target? Lack of depth perception using one eye to gauge distance ....
It won't be the monocular. Wouldn't be my first choice, but I've looked through these and had a good quality image at 70 yards through a number of day scopes...... With laser, of course.

what i was meant to say was that out at 40 yards it was clear and beyond that it wasnt i parrelexed the scope to 60 yards when i went past 40 yards and wound my way down until it was in focus its just that itdidnt seem to view that far ;)
sounds to me like you need more light are you using the on board illuminater by any chance?if so buy an ir lazer you will be amazed what differance it will make

im using both but the onboard ir isnt getting to the target because of the elevation and windage turrets :(

Save your battery. ;)
It sounds like you don't have enough light?
Try using a bright (white) target say A4 sized with a (single) large cross on it.
This will test for brightness level, and image quality. Prop it up, or staple it to a fence post 60 yards away.
Let us know how you get on. :)
