I have owned this rifle now for 4 months and I am selling on not because it’s a bad gun but because I fancy a change. This gun has nothing left to prove from using it for the last four months. It is very well designed and it performed faultlessly in the time that I owned it. It’s the one gun that I have owned where I had complete confidence in its performance. The only bit of maintenance it requires is that it likes a clean barrel so I had to do that more often than with my other rifles. It was relatively pellet fussy but was very accurate with Webly mossis and Daystate 452’s.

The magazine system is the best that I have ever tried because of its clockwork like function. Couple this with the fact that you cant double load and by playing with the safety you can determine if it is loaded or not.

The trigger is excellent, I adjusted it for a lighter let off than factory, which was very easy to do. You get 65 good shots from a 200 bar fill and it is very consistant with the correct pellets, expect and average of 10 –15 fps over the entire charge. It is also very quite with the silencer on, despite the carbine barrel. Because of its shorter length it feels very well balanced and despite it looks, the thumbhole stock is a good design.

All in all I have taken 105 rabbits with this rifle, a load of squirrels, a few maggies and couple of rats, I think these numbers say it all.

What are you going to try now then?:D Or is the FX the replacement for the HW100?

The FX is the replacement for the HW100. I needed something with more shots and ultimately more manoeuvrable. I have just found my self in a lot of hunting situations lately where the length and the weight of the HW have been awkardish.

At the moment I am mostly sitting on a fishing chair with the gun over my lap or in bushes and behind fences where space is tight. But the main reason was that I was getting funny looks on the way to my shoots. Some of my permission means short hikes up the shooting ground and I just wanted to be a bit more inconspicuous.

Having just parted company with one, I can honestly say they are one of the finest rifles on the market today. They are well made, easy to use and clinically accurate. The stand out features for me personaly were the exceptional balance and the silencer, both pure perfection. As a hunting rifle and in its price bracket it has no equal. It was my third .177 rifle and has enabled me to get to grips with this calibre very well. I did not find it to be pellet fussy it did well on H&N ftt, Daystates and accuppels, however I did find Logun penetrators to "pass through" at sub 35yds however they proved excellent at 35+yds off a bi-pod.

I would hope to see somebody attempt HFT with one of these rifles, I am sure a decent result would be the outcome. I know at some point I will regret selling and probaly end up buying another but thats life!! In short If you are after one of these hold out as they are class and well worth the outlay and wait, atb Richard

All my rifles, my hw100 is my most loved.
It is simply fantastic, accurate and makes hardly a sound.
My one is the full size t-hole, this gun will never be sold on.

My .22 has given a good account of itself in HFT comps so far. 3 wins and a 2nd:D . Can't wait to get to grips with the .177 now!

I wouldn't sell either of mine on.

I find the fit of the stock its best feature, very comfy to shoot, very accurate with webley mozzies but these are no good in even a slight breeze,i will be trialling daystate fts next as these are a b it heavier
