This rifle is built extremely well, it feels so solid in the hand and the blueing is very good, the trigger is clean and crisp with no creep, this is the best trigger i have had the pleasure to put my finger on so far.

Mine has been blueprinted by John Bowkett and shoots like a dream. The regulator must be doing its thing well the consistency must be very good (i havnt chrono'ed it) but it puts pellet on pellet at 35yds for me.

It doesnt seem to be pellet fussy at all, i have tried Accupels, daystate 4.52, and bisley magums 4.51 and they all performed well through the hornet, if im nit picking i would say it prefers the magnums, but there is hardly anything in it

I manage to get 70 shots out of just over a 200 bar fill, but i havnt taken it any further than that for fear of getting a pellet stuck in the barrel.

The action is also very quiet, with no noticable high frequency tings or twangs on firing, and with a HW silencer fitted the muzzle report is as you would expect.

The cocking mechanism is certainly different, you could say quirky, it takes some getting used to, and takes a little longer to load and get ready for the next shot compared to a standard bolt action, but in all honesty its a second difference, and the added saftey benefits it offers is a bonus.
The mechansm itself is very easy, being able to cock the action with just a single finger with very little travel and a nice and positve click to let you know its ready.

The pellet probe itself is also nice and smooth with a positive action released by a springloaded catch on the right hand side of the block

This rifle is a keeper for me, i have owned what you could say is the hornets direct competition the AA400 series and imo the hornet is better in every way except maybe for wieght, but i need a heavier rifle to stabilize my aim.
Its built better, the trigger is much nicer, the overall finish is better and above all the accuracy is a lot better, which i think is due to the regulator giving more consistent shots.

All this backed up by what i consider to be the best aftercare ive ever seen. A phone call to John Bowkett confirmed this and delivery cost is all thats needed to have the rifle looked after by the man who designed it in the first place, which is continously being upgraded by himself with new and better parts.

I underestimated this rifle years ago when i was looking for a pcp, i ended up buying an AAs410k, which went a year later, this one will be going nowhere

Nice review Mali,

Yes they are a very nice rifle, very accurate and as you say very consistent.I have a JB tuned FAC hornet running at 34ftlb right through 40 shots with 2-3fps variation 850fps with bis mags, this rifle never stop's amazing me out in the fields, and also the quiest rifle I've ever shot.Nice strong well-built rifle, mines the muti-shot and once you get the hang of it its perfect and also the trigger is a fine crisp trigger,I have 2 rapids both in FAC too and trigger control is the same on all three perfect, accuracy well you cant tell which did what again all the same, beautiful groups out at 70yds ,all in all this is a top bit of rifle that will match any other rifle in most areas, the areas it wont match will be purely cosmetic nothing else.
Happy Shooting.:)
